Ather is all set to unveil the new 450X in India on January 28. Now, the company had shared a teaser of the upcoming variant, which was pretty interesting to look at. But after watching it a couple of times, we found the hidden messages in the video. Quiet sneaky, Ather. So, here’s what to expect from Ather's new 450X:
New colours:
The Ather 450 is one of the best electric scooters out there, but what it misses is the overall aesthetic appeal. And you can blame that on the company’s decision to stick with just one paint option - white. Now though, Ather is likely to introduce new paint schemes like yellow, blue, red and so on for the ‘X’ variant.
More range and power:
Anything with an ‘X’ prefix signifies big (smartphones are a good example of that). The Ather 450X, we believe, could get a slightly better range and top speed compared to the standard model. The standard Ather 450 is powered by a 5.4kW motor and 2.4kWh battery that offers a range of 75km (Eco mode) in the real world.
More features:
The upcoming model will get some additional features to help it differentiate from the standard model. The base 450 gets rider modes, a reverse mode, a full colour TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity and navigation.
Availability:
Ather is planning to expand its reach in 2020 by adding eight cities to its list. Cities like Pune, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Delhi, and Coimbatore are amongst the first ones in the list. However, Ather is also planning to launch its scooters in Kochi, Coimbatore, Kolkata, and Ahmedabad, but the exact timeline of this expansion plan hasn’t been revealed yet.
