2025 Bajaj Avenger 220 Street Launching Soon: Now OBD-2B Compliant

It could be a more affordable entry-level alternative to the Royal Enfield Meteor 350

Quick News Highlights

    • Homologation documents of the Avenger 220 Street have surfaced online

    • Reveals details about the OBD-2B emission compliance

    • Could be launched in the coming weeks

Bajaj Auto recently took down the Avenger 220 Street from its Indian website. It looks like the brand is all set to launch the 2025 version as homologation documents of the bike has surfaced online. The documents have revealed that the bike will get OBD-2B compliance, keeping it in line with the latest emission norms. As per the document, the power output has remained unchanged.

As the name suggests, the Bajaj Avenger 220 Street is a more street-oriented cruiser sibling of the Bajaj Avenger 220 Cruise, complete with blacked-out design schemes instead of chrome elements. The Street misses out on the tall windscreen, and also gets a shorter handlebar, a simpler pillion grab rail (no cushioned backrest as the Cruise), and a pair of blacked out alloy wheels.

Other than these differences, both bikes will be the same in terms of performance and underpinnings. The bike will be powered by the same 220cc, air and oil-cooled engine, which produces 19.03PS and 17.55Nm.

The bike will be suspended on a telescopic fork and twin shock absorbers. It will roll on a 17-inch alloy wheel setup at both ends, with braking via a 280mm disc at the front with single-channel ABS and a 130mm drum at the rear. We also hope the brand takes this opportunity to update the digital console with more features such as smartphone connectivity for call/SMS alerts and turn-by-turn navigation.

The Bajaj Avenger 220 Street slots right between the more affordable Avenger 160 Street, and the premium Avenger 220 Cruise. It will also be a more affordable alternative to the Royal Enfield Meteor 350, which currently dominates the entry-level cruiser segment.

We expect the Avenger 220 Street to be launched in the coming weeks, likely at around Rs 4,000 to Rs 5,000 less than the price of the Avenger 220 Cruise. For perspective, the 220 Cruise currently retails at Rs 1,47,827 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

I’ve been using the Bajaj

I’ve been using the Bajaj Avenger Street 220 (STD) for a while now, and I’d like to share my honest opinion based on my riding experience. The first thing that caught my attention is its stylish street cruiser look. The low-slung design, matte black finish, and wide handlebars really give it a powerful road presence. It feels like a big bike but comes at a price that’s still affordable. In terms of comfort, it’s honestly one of the most relaxing bikes I’ve ridden. The riding posture is laid-back, and the seat is broad, making long rides smooth and enjoyable. It doesn’t strain your back even on longer routes. The 220cc engine delivers a smooth and punchy performance. Whether I’m cruising in the city or hitting the highway, the power is enough for my needs. It pulls well even with a pillion and has a good pickup.Read More

My friend bought this bike 1 year ago he is good at taking care of the bike that's why there is no issue thanks.Read More
