-
Everything else remains unchanged
Ather Energy has launched a new variant of the 450S in India at price of Rs 1,48,047 (ex-showroom Delhi), making it Rs 26,158 more expensive than the (now) base 2.9kWh version. The e-scooter now gets a much bigger battery pack which offers a higher claimed range.
What’s New
The 2025 Ather 450S gets a 3.7kWh battery pack from the 450X and 450 Apex variants, and with this, the scooter now promises a claimed range of 161km (40km more). The now base variant of the 450S comes with a 2.9kWh battery pack and a claimed range of 121km. The 5.4kW motor remains unchanged and produces the same 22Nm. The 450S can sprint from 0-40kmph in 3.9 seconds, and the claimed top speed is 90kmph (same as the base variant). The scooter comes with a domestic charger which can charge it from 0 to 80% in 4 hours 30 minutes (1 hour quicker than the base variant, and similar to the Ather 450X).
What’s Unchanged
The e-scooter gets a 7-inch LCD console which supports smartphone connectivity with turn-by-turn navigation, SMS/call alerts and automatic brightness. Other features include hill hold assist, self-canceling turn indicators, theft alert, find my scooter and Amazon Alexa skill integration (available with the optional AtherStack Pro). The scooter gets four ride modes: Smart Eco, Eco, Ride, and Sport. Other features include all LED lights and a USB charger, the same as before.

The underpinnings remain unchanged and the scooter uses the same aluminium frame with telescopic fork and rear monoshock. It gets disc brakes at the front and rear with CBS (combined braking system). The e-scooter runs on 12-inch alloy wheels and 90-section tyres at both ends.
BikeDekho
At a premium of Rs 26,158 the 450S with a 3.7kWh battery pack offers a lot more range, and should offer better practicality than the base variant. Other than this, everything else remains unchanged. That said, for about Rs 1000 more, one can even consider the base variant of the Ather 450X which gets a more powerful motor for better performance, fancier features including full-fledged navigation. That said, its battery capacity is the same as the base variant of the 450S, so you’ll get a lesser 121km range.

- Value for Money in terms of Satisfaction & ComfortVery convenient vehicle. I go out almost 5 times a day just for anything, such is the temptation to ride this vehicle. Addictive I would say! :) I was riding Interceptor 650 earlier, but Ather 450 is so cool to ride very comfortably to literally anywhere, nearby like market etc. especially for me as stepping into Senior Citizen stage of life.Read More1 2
