Last week, Wuyang-Honda, the Chinese arm of the Japanese bikemaker, launched the 2022 iteration of the CB190SS. Though the price tag of CNY 16,980 remains unchanged, Honda has made some subtle changes to the motorcycle. Here’s a closer look at the Japanese neo-retro offering:
The 2022 Honda CB190SS continues with its unmistakable retro design. Everything from the circular headlight to the tuck and roll seat and even the wire-spoke rims scream retro. That said, it perfectly blends neoteric elements like LED illumination and a semi digital console.
Wuyang-Honda has equipped the CB190SS with a LED headlight, complete with LED DRLs. The indicators have changed, and the circular units replace the rectangular indicators from the older model.

The Honda CB190SS comes with an offset instrument console consisting of an analogue tachometer and a digital speedometer. While the console is designed neatly, it displays basic information and doesn’t feature bluetooth connectivity even as an option.
Honda has adjusted the ignition for gruntier low- and mid-range performance. The 184cc single-cylinder engine now produces 16.8PS at 8000rpm and 16Nm at 7000rpm. This is a bump of 1PS and 0.7Nm over the outgoing model.
The Honda CB190SS comes equipped with a 15.3-litre fuel tank, which coupled with the claimed fuel efficiency of 35.71kmpl should offer a range of 500km per tank.
The Honda CB190SS comes with a USD fork up front and a monoshock to handle suspension duties. For braking, disc brakes at both ends have been used, aided by dual-channel ABS.
For 2022, Honda has retained the wire-spoke rim setup, but now with Zhengxin block-pattern tyres.
