    • New frame and engine have dropped the kerb weight by 2kg.
    • Vision 110 now features Honda’s Smart Key.
    • Gets a slightly updated design and new console.

The Honda Vision 110 has been a successful scooter in the European and some Asian markets for the Japanese two-wheeler giant. Now, Team Red has updated the scooter to meet the Euro 5 regulations.

The 109.5cc, 2-valve, air-cooled, fuel-injected engine has been redesigned and is now lighter. It produces 8.7PS at 7,500rpm and 9Nm at 5,750rpm. Apart from being kinder to nature, Honda claims the new motor is five percent more fuel efficient than the outgoing model. The scooter features tech like the ACG starter seen on most Honda scooters in India and also the Idle Stop system.

This engine is housed in a new steel underbone frame, which Honda calls Smart Architecture Frame (SAF). The new frame has helped it shed 2kg, with the 2021 Vision now tipping the scales at 100kg. It is suspended on a telescopic fork at the front and a single shock absorber at the rear. The Vision gets a 16-inch wheel at the front and a 14-inch wheel at the rear with drum brakes on both ends, aided by the combined braking system.

Honda has played it safe with the design, giving the scooter subtle styling updates rather than a complete overhaul. The Vision 110 now also gets a new semi-digital instrument console with an analogue speedometer and an LCD for the fuel-indicator. Another highlight for the 2021 model is the smart key, which allows the rider to start the scooter or access the under-seat storage without having to take the key out of their pocket.

Honda is yet to announce the pricing and availability in the European market. The outgoing model was priced at EUR 2,300 or Rs 2.05 lakh and the new one may be slightly pricier than the 2020 model. In a price-conscious market like ours, a 110cc scooter priced above 1 lakh will not find many takers, and which is why the 2021 Honda Vision 110 is unlikely to come to our shores.
