We already reported that India's leading two-wheeler manufacturer, Hero MotoCorp, has launched the new Achiever 150 with a major update. The 2016 model gets a complete facelift along with some mechanical upgrades and it comes with a starting price tag of Rs 61,800 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The bike has been also introduced in a disc brake trim which costs Rs 1,000 extra for a front disc brake. Both the trims are available in three colour options, Panther Black Metallic, Candy Blazing Red and Ebony Grey Metallic.
The Hero Achiever comes in the 150cc commuter segment and gets a very basic styling, targetted towards mature riders. However, the overall design looks much better when compared to the previous model. It shares the same platform with its predecessor along with the 150cc, air-cooled engine which is now updated to comply with the BS-IV emission standards. The performance figures remain unchanged and it continues to deliver 13.6PS of power and a peak torque of 12.8Nm.
The highlighted features of the new Achiever include the i3S (Idle Stop-Start System) and the AHO (Automatic Headlamp On). The i3S technology helps to save fuel and return a better fuel economy, while the AHO has been added as a safety feature. Besides these first-in-class additions, the bike gets most of the common features which work well with the purpose of this machine.
