Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt Ltd (HMSI) has launched 5 updated products including the 2015 Activa 3G (3rd Generation) today in a press meet. The new model has been priced at Rs. 48,852 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and receives some major cosmetic updates. However, mechanically it is the same scooter, which is being most popular 110cc scooter in India for a decade.
The 2015 Honda Activa 3G gets redesigned side panels along with new tail lamp, indicators and 3D metallic monogram, showing 'Activa 3G'. The analog console of the scooter has also received a new graphic pattern retaining the similar design. Other body panels of the scooter remains unchanged and the scooter looks exactly similar to the predecessor version from the front. Apart from the existing Black, White and Geny Grey Metallic color options, the new model will also be available in 2 new Trance Blue Metallic and Lusty Red Metallic options.
Powering the 3rd generation Honda Activa is the same 109.2cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine based on the HET (Honda Eco Technology) and comes mated to a CVT gearbox. The motor churns out 8bhp of maximum power at 7,00rpm along with a peak torque of 8.74Nm coming at 5,500rpm. The scooter still claims to return a mileage of upto 60kmpl, which have been approved by ARAI.
Features of the new Honda Activa 3G are also similar to the older version and it retains the bottom link front suspension, unit spring loaded hydraulic damper at the rear, 10-inch steel wheels with tubeless tyres, 130mm front and rear drum brakes, CBS (Combi Brake System), shutter type key lock, 18-litre of under-seat storage capacity, viscous type air filter and maintenance free battery.
