    Overview

Honda surprised the Indian bike lovers by unveiling its most fascinating chopper - VT 1300 CX. Though it lacks the American feel, still it is a big enough to satisfy a chopper freak.

The machine’s heart comes with a powerful 1312cc, liquid-cooled, V-twin engine. It includes a single pin crankshaft, dual balancers and a programmed fuel injection system with automatic enricher circuit. The thirsty engine develops a thrilling power output of 57bhp at 4250rpm with an impressive torque of 107Nm at 2,250rpm. The bike’s soul is coupled to a 5-speed transmission system with perfectly balanced gear ratios to deliver the fine amount of adrenaline rush to our speed freaks. The clutch type is the wet multiplate.

The dimensions of Honda VT 1300 CX are 2,575 x 900 x 1,150mm drawn from a double cradle steel frame. The seat height is incredibly low with only 678mm giving you a “down to earth” feel. The front shock absorbers are 45mm telescopic with a large axle travel of 102.4 mm. The rear comes with an adjustable rebound damping monoshock. The fuel storing capacity is 12.8 litres with a fuel efficiency coming down to 20.3kmpl. Being a mighty beast, Honda VT 1300 CX offers a fair fuel economy not giving much stress to its owners.

The detailing of this mammoth is done beautifully with perfect set of lines and curves around the body section. A big amount of chrome at the exhaust, headlight, rear view mirrors and the engine compartment does add to its character. The instrument console gets an analogue speedo which is a signature styling for these class of bikes. It also gets paired with a digital tripmeter. Vibration and rattling on the dashboard is felt on higher speeds marking a slight disadvantage. The bike comes with a wheelbase of 1,805mm making it longer than the ordinary bikes. The stopping kit for the Honda VT 1300 CX comes loaded with a sharp 336mm single disc with twin piston caliper at the front and 296mm disc with a single piston caliper at the rear.

Both the wheels are blessed with combined ABS to give the machine a steady and sudden standstill as and when required. The tyres sport 9-spoke front and 7-spoke rear black alloy wheels with a size of 90/90-R21M/C for the front and 200/50-R18M/C for the rear. The electrical system is purely digital with 3-Dimensional mapping. The Honda VT 1300 CX is given 2 spark plugs per cylinder to burn the fuel more effectively and develop more revs and excitement with every gearshift.

    Design

Honda VT 1300 CX comes with long telescopic front forks and a robust chrome cased headlight that commands its cruiser bike appearance and blesses it with a superior high-end premium look. The fuel tank is sleekly designed and is one of the most narrow fuel tanks one has ever noticed. Next to it lies well-padded seating that completes the flow of fuel tank quite impressively. A lot of chrome has been implemented while designing the bike that finds its presence at the headlight section, exhaust unit and turn indicator housing. Coming towards the rear, the body design follows a proper semicircular pattern with a highly-finished fender that comes mounted with a stylish LED tail lamp and rounded turn indicators.

Bolted on a tubular steel double cradle frame, the bike comes with the following body dimensions: 2,575mm x 900mm x 1,150mm (LxWxH). A wheelbase and minimum ground clearance of 1,805mm and 126mm respectively ensures that the machine follows the handling and stability protocols strictly and obediently. The seat of the chopper is mounted at a height of 678mm making it convenient for short heighted riders as well.
