Overview

Honda has unveiled the ADV125 at the 2026 EICMA show in Milan, Italy. This is a new scooter under the Honda ADV scooter family, and is the smallest one, slotting below the Honda ADV160. It’s not a genuine adventure scooter, but rather an adventure-themed maxi-scooter that’s meant to look tough.
Design

The ADV125 follows the styling of Honda's larger ADV models, with sharp bodywork, and beefy proportions inspired by modern SUVs and adventure motorcycles. If we were to be honest, it doesn’t look all that different from the bigger Honda ADV160. But that’s not necessarily a bad thing as both scooters look really unique when compared to other scooters in their respective segments.
The scooter will be available in four colour options:
-
Pearl Falcon Gray
-
Pearl Cool White
-
Mat Cynos Gray Metallic
-
Mat Pearl Diaspro Red
Features & Practicality
Convenience Features

The ADV125 gets a 5-inch full-colour TFT instrument display with Honda RoadSync smartphone connectivity. It allows riders to access music control, navigation and messaging. For everyday practicality, the scooter has 29 litres of underseat storage, enough to accommodate a full-face helmet, along with a 2-litre front glovebox.

Other equipment includes all-LED lighting, a USB Type-C charging socket and Honda SMART Key operation. The keyless system allows riders to operate the ignition, seat and fuel filler, and also includes anti-theft and answer-back functions. The two-position windscreen can be adjusted manually through 75mm using a slide-lock mechanism. The lower setting allows more airflow during city rides, while the higher position provides increased weather protection on longer journeys.
Safety Features:
The safety package includes Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC, Honda’s term of traction control system), which manages rear-wheel traction and can be switched off. It also gets Emergency Stop Signal (ESS) technology, which automatically flashes the indicators under heavy braking to alert vehicles behind. While traction control is not really required for a 125cc scooter, it is still good to have, especially in scenarios where one is riding on wet roads.
Riding Posture & Comfort

The ADV125 gets an upright riding position and a relaxed rider triangle. Honda says this setup provides good visibility in traffic and helps reduce fatigue over longer distances.
It has a narrow seat profile and an accessible seat height of 780mm. The 165mm ground clearance is just 3mm more than the Honda Activa 110, so it’s not really a hardcore adventure scooter if you ask us
For added comfort in colder conditions, Honda will offer heated grips as an optional accessory.
Engine & Performance
The ADV125 is powered by a 125cc, liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine. It produces 12.5PS at 8,750rpm and 11.7Nm at 6,500rpm, and can propel the scooter to a claimed top speed of 97kmph. The claimed mileage is pretty decent at 47.6kmpl. It also gets a rather large 8.1-litre fuel tank, so you should get around 380km from a tankful.
The engine is paired with a CVT automatic transmission and gets an Idling Stop system, which switches off the engine after a few seconds when the scooter is stationary and the brakes are applied. It restarts when the rider twists the throttle. This should help in ensuring better mileage when ridden on stop-go traffic frequently.
Handling & Ride Quality

The ADV125 uses a duplex steel cradle frame and gets a telescopic front fork with 116mm of wheel travel. At the rear, it uses twin Showa shock absorbers with external reservoirs and 103mm of wheel travel.

The scooter rides on 14-inch front and 13-inch rear alloy wheels, wrapped in block-pattern tubeless tyres measuring 110/80-14 at the front and 130/70-13 at the rear.
Braking is handled by a 240mm front and a 220mm rear - both petal discs for better heat dissipation. The front gets a Nissin two-piston caliper and single-channel ABS, while the rear uses a Nissin single-piston caliper. The ADV125 has a kerb weight of 133kg, which is decent considering the visual bulk of the scooter.
For riders who need additional carrying capacity, Honda offers an optional rear carrier and 40-litre Smart Top Box. It works with the Honda’s keyfob, allowing the box to be unlocked without taking the key out of your pocket. A security buzzer is also available as an optional accessory.
Rivals To Consider

The Honda ADV125 is unlikely to launch in India anytime soon. That said, if you’re looking to buy a rugged scooter, then in the 160cc segment you have the Hero Xoom 160 to consider. Honda will also start the deliveries of its own Honda ADV160 in India soon. Interestingly, this one is the only scooter (at the time of writing this) to be compatible with up to E85 flex fuels.
