Hero Super Splendor iSmart Highlights
The Hero Super Splendor is a commuter aimed at those who are looking for a powerful yet fuel efficient option that is equally at home on the highway and city roads. Featuring a simple yet effective design, the bike is powered by a sloper 124.7cc engine that produces 9.12PS of power at 7,000rpm and 10.35Nm of torque at 4,000rpm, which is paired to a 4-speed gearbox. It also gets Hero’s i3S technology which turns off the engine when its idling, thus delivering better fuel efficiency. The Super Splendor gets a self-start as well.
The underpinnings of the Hero Super Splendor consist of a double cradle frame that is suspended on conventional telescopic forks at the front and 5-step adjustable hydraulic shock absorbers at the rear. Bringing the bike to a halt are 130mm drums at both ends. Sadly, the bike is not offered with a disc brake even as an option. However, with the new safety regulations set to be enforced from 1 April 2019, Hero will be equipping the Super Splendor with a front disc brake and CBS (combined braking system).
The Super Splendor rides on 2.75 section tyres shod on 18 inch alloy wheels at both ends. It gets a 13 litre fuel tank and has a kerb weight of 121kg. Hero has priced the Super Splendor at Rs 57,950 (ex-showroom Delhi). In terms of competition, the Hero Super Splendor goes up against the Honda CB Shine SP, Yamaha Saluto and Bajaj Discover 125.
