Hero Super Splendor iSmart Expert Review
January 11, 2015: Hero is expected to bring in the 2016 version of Super Splendor iSmart at the Auto Expo, next month. The look of the new Super Splendor iSmart is slated for a refresh, over its current version and is expected to borrow design cues from its younger sibling, the Splendor iSmart. The 2016 model will get the same single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that powers the current model. The 124.7cc mill generates a maximum power of 9bhp at 7,000rpm with a torque of 10.35Nm at 4,000rpm. The new instrument cluster of the motorcycle was spied last month, which led to the revelation that i3S technology used in Splendor iSmart will feature on the 2016 Super Splendor, as well.
Hero is famous for its fuel-efficient commuter bikes. Following the same philosophy, the company is planning to launch its new 125cc commuter motorcycle in India. The new 125cc machine will be unveiled at the upcoming 2016 Auto Expo. Called as Super Splendor iSmart, the bike sports an i3s technology and is expected to be available for sale in the domestic market by March 2016.
Super Splendor iSmart will be propelled by the 124.7cc air cooled, 4 strokes, single cylinder engine along with the i3s technology that will enhance the performance and mileage of the machine. The engine configuration is the same that is used to give power its current model. The mill will be linked to a four-speed transmission and it is expected that the motor will generate 9 bhp of power at 7000 rpm along with a peak torque of 10.35 Nm at 4000 rpm. It is also expected that with the presence of the i3s technology the upcoming Super Splendor iSmart will deliver a mileage of around 92kmpl While the standard model returns an ARAI certified mileage of 83 kmpl.
The 2016 Super Splendor iSmart will be sharing its design style with the Splendor iSmart that was released last year in March. Furthermore, it seems to come with restyled fuel tank and a 3-pod instrument panel along with i3 badge on it. The left pod of the instrument cluster sports neutral, side stand and high beam blinkers along with the i3S logo on the top of the right-hand side corner it is the only addition in this pod. The middle pod displays the information about speedometer, odometer and trip meter. At last, the right pod sports a vertically crafted fuel blinkers instead of the horizontal design on the existing model. The machine will also have a lot of feature like new side panels, new split grab handles, new tailpiece, the hero badge on the handlebar.
