    Overview

    Bajaj Auto has launched its Adventure motorcycle Bajaj Pulsar AS200 in India few months back. The bike has shown a decent sales graph due to the presence of huge numbers of Pulsar aficionados in the country. Currently, it is the third offering from Bajaj in the 200cc segment after Pulsar 200NS and Pulsar RS200. The motorcycle has a tall and sporty stance and born to give all round superior performance.

    Pulsar AS200 gets it power from 199.5cc, 4-valve, triple spark, liquid-cooled engine that pumps out a maximum power of 23.17bhp at 9500 rpm and a maximum torque of 18.3Nm at 8,000 rpm. The same motor also serves Pulsar 200NS. The engine is mated to 6-speed transmission system. The bike can go up to 135kmph mark in the speedometer.

    The bike is constructed on a pressed steel perimeter beam section type frame and comes equipped with suspension unit of 37mm telescopic fork at the front and Nitrox mono shock absorber adjoins with a reservoir at the rear. It runs over a stylish 10-spoke alloy wheels wrapped in tubeless tyres at both ends. The braking duty of this machine is carried out by 280mm disc brake at the front and 230mm disc brake at the rear.

    On the account of features, the bike is equipped with an angular headlamps section that is included with a powerful projector headlamp with dual pilot lamps. It also features with a split step-up seat that look stylish with the rear split grab rail. The motorcycle comes with a wheelbase of 1363 mm and is mounted with a 12-liter fuel tank. Furthermore, it also features a maintenance free battery. The Instrumental console of the bike comprises of digital speedometer, trip meter, odometer, fuel gauge and analogue tachometer along with other usual indicators.

    Bajaj Pulsar AS 200 is truly an adventure touring bike that made its way along with its younger sibling, Pulsar AS 150. The bike looks impressive with its high rise body stance, which makes it an ideal tool to overcome any terrain with ease. At the front, it receives a sharp and predatory headlamp section including a conventional lamp with powerful projector light and dual pilot lamps. It has a visor that protects the rider from wind and also looks amazing. The design of the fuel tank is taken from NS 200 and gets good marks in terms of visuals. The styling seems to follow the trademark which most of the Bajaj highly performance motorcycles have and this bike gets one too. It also features with split step-up seats that look stylish with the rear split grab rail which gives comfort during long journeys. The raised rear end flaunts aggression and sportiness. Apart from this, It is bestowed with split rear grab rails that find its place in the bike and enhance the beauty.

    Pulsar AS200 is mounted on a Pressed steel perimeter beam section frame and has body dimensions of 2,070mm x 804mm x 1,205mm (LxWxH). The bike gets a wheelbase of 1,363mm that ensures an agile handling in all conditions. Its ground clearance is 167 mm and seat has been fitted at a height of 807mm. Approaching toward the instrumentation, it is completely refreshed and consists of an analogue tachometer, digital speedometer, trip meter, odometer, clock, gear position display and fuel gauge.

    Bajaj Pulsar AS 200 features a strong 55W projector light along with a 55W high beam headlight that lights up the road well in dark and offers proper visibility at nights. The braking duties are carried out by 280mm front and 230mm rear disc brakes that give a good grip and works very well in enormous approach. Furthermore, the bike is blessed with a maintenance free battery that reduce the maintenance costs and hence, proves pocket-friendly. Besides this, The twin rear view mirrors done their part pretty well by keeping the rider aware of his surroundings and cut down the chance of any mishap.     Bajaj Pulsar AS 200 has been equipped with a 199.5cc,  4-valve, triple spark, SOHC, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that generates maximum power of 23.17bhp at 9500 rpm and a maximum torque of 18.3Nm at 8,000 rpm. The engine is mated to 6-speed transmission comes with a one-down five gear configuration system. The gearbox is used with wet multi-plate type clutch. The refined 200cc engine has a power oriented bore x stroke ratio of 72mm x 49mm that gives an uncompromised and seamless power delivery.  With these parts, the bike can hit a top speed of 135kmph in the speedometer and delivers a decent fuel economy as well.

To offer a fierce stopping power, the company configured it with a reliable and trustworthy 280mm disc brake at the front and 230mm disc brake at the rear, that brings it to a halt as and when required.       Best Performance

      After nine years of riding the Pulsar AS200, I find it incredibly comfortable. It hasn't encountered any engine issues, and I've reached 90k mileage without any trouble. Plus, considering its quality, the price is impressively low.

      Great Bike With Great Mileage

      This is a great bike. Very low maintenance cost and good mileage considering its engine capacity of 200CC. The very comfortable seating position and you can go on a long drive on this bike.

    Bajaj Pulsar AS 200 Latest Updates

    April 02, 2016: India’s third largest two-wheeler manufacturer company, Bajaj Auto introduced another member to the Pulsar family few months back. Named as Bajaj Pulsar AS200, the bike is fitted with the same 200cc, liquid-cooled power mill that used to power its retired naked sibling, Pulsar 200NS. As noticeable from its “AS” suffix, the motorcycle is crafted on an adventure bike concept and comes with an aggressive body design. The bike is available in four colors: Cocktail Wine Red, Ebony Black, Sapphire Blue and Pearl Metallic White and is priced at Rs. 79,900 for the base variant and Rs. 84,400 for the CBS variant (both prices, ex-Showroom, Delhi).
