Overview
The Simple Ultra is the brand’s newly launched flagship electric scooter that sits above the Simple One Gen 2 in the lineup. Bookings are open for the Ultra, and the deliveries are underway. It costs Rs 2,34,999 (ex-showroom), which is Rs 45,000 more than the Simple One Gen 2 with the 5kWh battery pack.
It focuses primarily on offering a significantly higher range than most electric scooters. This is thanks to its substantially larger battery pack. Apart from this, most of its hardware, features and ergonomics are carried over from the Simple One platform.
Design
The Simple Ultra shares its sharp and sporty design language with the Simple One Gen 2. It features an apron-mounted headlamp, neatly integrated DRLs on the handlebar cowl, and a sleek tail section.
Features
Since the Ultra is based on the Simple One platform, it offers the safety suite like a four-level traction control, and multiple levels of regenerative braking, and six riding modes(Eco, Ride, Air, Sonic, Eco X and Sonic X). It’s also includes fall detection, hill-hold assist, hazard lamp activation during hard braking, TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring system), limp-home mode, speed limiter, crawl mode, and park mode.
Convenience
The Simple Ultra is equipped with the same all-LED lights, 7-inch TFT touchscreen instrument console as the Simple One Gen 2, running an Android-based operating system. Features like cruise control, full-fledged navigation, smartphone connectivity, phone alerts, music controls, ride analytics, OTA (Over The Air) updates, live location, geofencing, and park assist are offered as well.
It also gets practical touches such as the 35-litre underseat storage, a one-litre apron-mounted glove box, and an USB charging port.
Riding Posture & Comfort
Ergonomically, the Simple Ultra will likely be identical to the Simple One Gen 2. This means it should get a seat height of 780mm and a ground clearance of 172mm, making it approachable for most riders and practical for Indian road conditions.
Motor, Battery, Range & Performance
The highlight of this Simple electric scooter is its 6.5kWh battery with a claimed IDC (Indian Driving Cycle) range of 400km. This makes it the longest-range electric scooter in India. Simple has clarified that these figures are based on internal testing conditions. The real-world range will vary depending on riding modes, riding style, traffic and environmental factors.
The Ultra uses the motor from the One 5kWh variant, which makes 8.8kW and 72Nm. It has a top speed of 115kmph, and accelerates from 0 to 40kmph in 2.77 seconds (both claimed). This makes it 0.22 seconds slower than the Simple One 5kWh variant, presumably because of the heavier weight, thanks to the bigger battery.
Handling & Ride Quality
Due to the larger 6.5kWh battery pack, the Ultra’s kerb weight will be higher than the One Gen 2’s 129kg, though the exact figure is yet to be revealed. Brakes of the Ultra are also identical to the Gen 2: a 200mm front and a 190mm rear disc with combined braking system (CBS).

The Simple Ultra competes with other performance oriented, premium electric scooters like the Ather 450 Apex, Ola S1 Pro Plus, TVS X, and the top-end variant of the upcoming Ultraviolette Tesseract.
