  • Overview

    Royal Enfield is famous for its high-class and good looking motorcycles. The company has launched its much-appreciated cafe racer bike named as Royal Enfield Continental GT to cater  the Indian population. This bike gives the feel of 50’s.

    The bike is powered by a 535cc, single cylinder, 4-stroke, air-cooled engine that comes mated to 5-speed constant mesh gearbox and use wet, multiplate clutch to transmits the power to the rear wheels. The motor is tuned to develop a maximum power of 29.1 bhp at 5100 rpm along with a peak torque of 44 Nm at 4000 rpm. It uses Keihin Electronic Fuel Injection system for fuel supply and Paper Element for an air cleaner. It comes with both Electric and a kick start.

    The motorcycle is designed on cafe racer theme. It is bolted on Twin Downtube Cradle Frame. The front profile of the bike features a compact design featuring low positioned headlight and handlebar. It also sports a round shaped chrome finished headlight along with two retro-styled, orange colored side blinkers. Furthermore, it has a beautifully crafted fuel tank of 13.5 liters capacity. The instrument console of the bike is equipped with two naked circular dials with chrome surroundings. The left dial sports its analogue speedometer and odometer while the analogue tachometer is placed on the right side. The bike also comes with a blue back-lit LCD display that display the odometer and fuel gauge.

    It has come with overall body dimension of 2060 mm in length, 760 mm in width, 1070 mm in  height along with 1360 mm of wheelbase. It has a minimum ground clearance of 140 mm that ensures agile handling while cornering. Furthermore, it is fitted with 300mm Floating Brembo disc, 2-Piston floating caliper brake at the front and 240mm Disc, Single piston floating caliper at the rear that offers sound stopping power. It provides a stress-free and comfortable ride as it comes with a suspension system that includes 41mm Telescopic forks, 110mm travel up front and Paioli,Twin gas charged shock absorbers with adjustable preload, 80mm travel at the rear end.

  • Design

    The Royal Enfield Continental GT comes with a low-positioned headlamp and clip-on handlebars, coupled with an extra-long fuel tank that offers an unconventional but sporty seating position. It is bolted on a Twin Downtube Cradle Frame and wrapped in cafe racer theme. The manufacturer offers it in three colors, i.e., GT Black, GT Yellow & GT Red. Talking about the rear, it is nicely designed with a sporty cowl furnished on top of the rear fender that is available only on single-seat models and can be replaced with a rear-seat for pillion riders, which is available as an optional feature. It has high-raised and fat chrome-fed silencer that looks elegant. The tail lamp is also fitted at the rear fender along with the number plate.

    The body dimensions of the bike are 2060 mm in length, 760 mm in width, 1070 mm in  height. It has a minimum ground clearance of 140mm and 1360 mm of wheelbase that offer agile and sharp riding experience. Furthermore, it is fitted with neatly crafted fuel tank that can store 13.5 liter which is good enough for long distance journey. Its total kerb weight is 184 kg that makes it a bit heavy. With this setup, the bike can achieve a top speed of 145 kmph. The instrument panel of the bike is consists of an analogue speedometer, analogue tachometer, digital trip meter and digital fuel gauge.

  • Engine & Performance

    Royal Enfield Continental GT gets its power from 535cc, single cylinder, 4-stroke, air-cooled engine that comes linked to a five-speed constant mesh gearbox. The mill churns out 29.1 bhp of power at 5100 rpm along with 44 Nm of torque at 4000 rpm. Further, it uses wet, multiplate clutch assembly to transmits the power to the rear wheel and offer uninterrupted power delivery. The bike is configured with Keihin Electronic Fuel Injection system for fuel supply and Paper Element for air cleaning. It has a compression ratio of 8.5:1 and power oriented bore x stroke ratio of 87mm x 90mm. Apart from this, it features both Electric and a kick start option.

  • Ride & Handling

    Royal Enfield Continental GT rides on 100/90-18, 56 H Pirelli Sport Demon at the front and 130/70-18, 63 H Pirelli Sport Demon at the rear wide tubeless tyres that offer good grip on the road. Braking system comes to action with the help of 300mm Floating Brembo disc, 2-Piston floating caliper at the front and 240mm Disc, Single piston floating caliper at the rear that provide enough stopping power. The suspension system of the bike is comprises of 41mm Telescopic forks, 110mm travel up front and Paioli,Twin gas charged shock absorbers with adjustable preload, 80mm travel at the rear end that offers comfortable and hassle free ride.

  • Safety Features

    Royal Enfield Continental GT comes with a 12V H4 60 / 55 W headlamp that illuminate the road pretty well in the nights and even in low light conditions. It is fitted with wide tubeless tyres the prevents from the sudden downshifts in the case of a puncture. Furthermore, it is equipped with an additional side bag that can accommodate the goodies while on the go.
