Royal Enfield has launched the Bullet 500 ABS at a price of Rs 1.87 lakh, which is a premium of Rs 14,000 over the standard Bullet 500’s price of Rs 1.73 lakh (both prices ex-showroom Delhi). As with its other bikes, Royal Enfield has given the Bullet 500 a proper dual-channel ABS unit. The update also makes the Bullet 500 compliant with the upcoming safety regulations that mandate ABS for all two-wheelers above 125cc. Bookings for the ABS model have begun for an amount of Rs 5,000, while deliveries are expected to commence in February 2019.
The Royal Enfield Bullet 500 is proudly the oldest motorcycle model in continuous production and still exists in the product portfolio of Royal Enfield for the Indian two-wheeler market. Based on a raw and retro classic theme, the Bullet 500 is still going strong and is more or less the same in comparison to the first model that was launched way back in 1948. Powering the RE Bullet 500 is a 499cc, single cylinder, air-cooled engine linked to a five-speed transmission. The fuel injected motor manages to shed respective power and torque figures of 27bhp @ 5250rpm and 41Nm @ 4000rpm. It has a claimed mileage of 30kmpl and a claimed top speed of 131kmph. The stopping power of this motorcycle is delivered with the help of a 280mm disc brake up front that pairs with a 153mm drum brake at the rear. The Bullet 500 is available in three colour options: Forest Green, Marsh Grey and Black. The features of the Royal Enfield Bullet 500 include a rounded retro inspired headlamp, winged badge on the fuel tank and the 19-inch wired wheels.

Bullet 500 consists of 280 mm disc brake in front and 153 internal expanding rear drum brakes. Trustworthy braking system of the bike makes the rider comfortable on high speed and it has 130 mm travel front suspension and twin gas charged shock absorbers & 80 mm travel rear suspension. Handling the bike in city traffic becomes difficult as it is a heavy machine but a delight on highways can be always experienced on this ultimate machine.
