Yamaha YZF-R1 and R1M launched in India, Price starts at Rs. 22.34 lac

After renovating the OEM site, Yamaha Motor India added two new models in its product list. These are none other than the amazing YZF-R1 and YZF-R1M, which were launched by the company’s MotoGP riders- Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo.

Yamaha YZF-R1 and its sibling are designed on MotoGP technology and offer an ultimate riding experience. The machines are loaded with a 998cc, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, DOHC, forward-inclined parallel 4-cylinder engine. Mated to a 6-speed constant mesh gearbox, the crossplane motor is tuned to generate an utmost power of 197bhp at 13,500rpm and a peak torque of 112.4Nm at 11,500rpm. High levels of linear torque are developed with the newly designed crossplane crankshaft that organizes uneven 270° - 180° - 90° - 180° firing sequence.

Built on all-new aluminium Deltabox frame, the common elements of Yamaha YZF-R1M and R1 are lightweight 4-2-1 exhaust system, twin LED position headlights, aerodynamic front cowl and rear view mirrors with integrated LED side indicators. However, R1M features some state-of-the-art products like Electronic Racing Suspension (ERS), Communication Control Unit (CCU), YZF-M1 inspired lightweight carbon bodywork, 6-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU), Slide Control System (SCS), Traction Control System (TCS), Front LIFt control system (LIF), Launch Control System (LCS) and Quick Shift System (QSS). All these equipments add more excitement and betterment to the machine’s maneuverability and rideability.

Available in two attractive colors: Racing Blue and Racing Red, Yamaha YZF-R1 is priced at Rs. 22,34,300. On the other hand, Yamaha YZF-R1M sports a Silver Blue Carbon color and a price tag of Rs. 29,43,100 (both ex-showroom price, Delhi).
