Upcoming Bajaj Pulsar CS400 Spotted Testing Again, Launch Soon

Showcased as a concept at the 2014 Auto Expo, the Bajaj Pulsar CS400 has been spotted testing again in India, and is expected to be launched during the festive season this year.

Showcased as a concept at the 2014 Auto Expo, the Bajaj Pulsar CS400 has been spotted testing again in India, and is expected to be launched during the festive season this year.

It has been more than two years since Bajaj unveiled the concept models of the next generation of its Pulsar models- the RS400 and the CS400, at the 2014 Auto Expo. The prior one has already been launched in the market with a smaller engine as the current flagship Pulsar RS200, while the 400cc models are still missing. However, the company is continuously testing these models and, once again, a camouflaged CS400 test mule has been spotted on trial, loaded with extensive testing gear onboard. It hints that the launch of the bike is nearing and it could arrive in the market during the festive season this year.

The production model of the Pulsar CS400 retains all the major design cues from its concept model and the only major change we can notice is the replacement of front inverted (USD) forks with conventional telescopic units. The attractive digital twin console is still on the bike as well, one on its flatter handlebar and the other on the masculine fuel tank.

We can't comment whether the aggressive multi-unit headlamp has been replaced or not; however, the elegant LED tail lamp and turn indicators are still on the bike untouched. Some other features like the rear monoshock suspension, stylish alloy wheels, fat tyres, front & rear disc brakes, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), and the sporty side-slung muffler will also be retained in the production version.

Powering the upcoming Bajaj Pulsar CS400 will be a liquid-cooled engine, displacing around 375cc. Yes, Bajaj will again adapt the powertrain configuration from the 390cc KTMs, which are manufactured at its facility in Chakan, Pune. With a very ergonomic design, the sports cruiser Pulsar will be a first-of-its-kind Indian machine and will start a new segment in the country. Not many manufacturers across the world offer such bikes, and those that do all cater to the high-performance segment, ruled by the likes of the Ducati Diavel and the Yamaha VMAX.

The Pulsar CS400 is expected to be priced around Rs 1.7 lakh, making it quite competitive against offerings like the KTM 390 Duke, Mahindra Mojo 300, Honda CBR 250R and the Royal Enfield offerings.

Dominar 400

I have been riding this bike for more then 6 years and have convered over 80000 km. The ABS has saved me many times and gives me a lot of condidence on the road. The maintenance cost os very low compared to bikes like the KTM 390 and others in the same segment and its east to find spare parts anywhere in Mumbai. When I decided to purchase this bike back in 2017 it was the best value for money option available and I have never regretted that decision to this day.Read More

An excellent bike that I purchased, I am very much satisfied with this bike. The Bajaj Dominar 400 is highly recommended cruiser in the touring segment. It has good riding comfort in any kind of climate, and in terms of mileage, I can't compare it with any of these segment bikes. I am getting 29kmpl in city and 36kmpl on highway mileage.Read More
