  • The F77 will sport a 25KW electric motor; promises 0-60kmph in 3 seconds.
  • It is likely to offer a range of around 150km on a single charge.
  • It will also feature OTA update capabilities and three riding modes.
  • Ultraviolette will soon set up a charging grid across the nation.

Electric two-wheeler manufacturer Ultraviolette has announced that it will launch a sporty electric naked motorcycle called the F77 on November 13. The F77  promises performance comparable to most entry-level performance motorcycles. It gets sharp-looking bodywork with a mass-forward design and a sporty riding stance thanks to low set clip-on handlebars. The sporty theme has been carried forward under the skin as well since it is based on a trellis frame and cast aluminium swingarm.

The F77 will get a 25kW electric motor which Ultraviolette claims can propel the bike from 0-60kmph in 3 seconds flat. To give you a little perspective, that’s quicker than most 300cc motorcycles and even the 500cc Benellis. The motor will come with three rider modes: Eco, Sport and Insane! While Ultraviolette has not revealed battery specs, it claims a best-in-class energy density from its lithium-ion battery pack.

The batteries can be charged via the company’s energy grid called Ultraviolette Energy Network, or at home via a home charger. This charger will monitor your charging cycles and optimise them to maintain battery health. While Ultraviolette has not mentioned battery range, we expect the motorcycle to cover triple digits on a full charge. It also gets regenerative braking which should help improve range.

Besides performance, the F77 will also get connected features like ride telematics, remote diagnostics, over-the-air (OTA) upgrades, ride analytics, and motorcycle tracking. Users will be able to access most of these features via a smartphone app.

The F77 is expected to be launched with a price tag of around Rs 2 lakh (ex-showroom) before FAME II incentives. At this price, it should be a good performance alternative to other electric motorcycles like the Revolt RV400 and the upcoming Tork T6X
