TVS Records 5.2% Sales Growth in December 2015

TVS has recorded a growth of 5.2% in sales for two-wheelers in December 2015. The company has sold 1,94,066 units in December 2015 compared to 1,84,474 units sold in the corresponding month in 2014. Exports also registered a growth of 5.5% as the company exported 25,906 units in December 2015 as compared to 24,556 units in December 2014. The Chennai-based manufacturer also saw a rise of 3.18% in two-wheeler sales for November 2015 selling 2,17,706 units.
Scooter sales of the company grew by a massive 21.4%, selling 65,090 units in December 2015 increasing from 53,613 units sold in December 2014. On the other hand, there was only a slight rise in company’s motorcycle sales that stood at 71,435 units compared to 70,573 units sold in December 2014. The last quarter sales of two-wheelers increased by 7.7% by selling a total of 6.76 lac units as compared to 6.27 lac units sold last year during the same period.
The things look all the more promising for the company as it is expected to see a rise in sales for 2016 with the launch of Apache RTR 200 whose details were revealed in November by Mr. Arun Siddharth, Senior GM, Marketing, TVS Motors. The bike will feature a 200cc, single-cylinder engine that closely resembles the one used in Pulsar 200NS. The bike will come with a flat tank lid, LEDs at the tail lamp, Pirelli tyres and ABS. The instrument console will be digital and the sportiness of the bike will be enhanced with stylish split seats.
