Company's latest male scooter Jupiter has all the required features along with some extra like external fuel fill, front telescopic suspensions, gas charged rear suspension, under seat mobile charger, parking brake, largest 90/90-12 tubeless tyres, low fuel indicator, retractable bag hooks, Patented E-Z Centre Stand, twin pilot lamps, 17 litre under-seat storage, LED tail lamp, easily accessible kick-start and Econometer, which make it a good value for money product. The scooter delivers top in class mileage of 62kmpl.
Currently, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India limited has the maximum shares of the Indian scooter market. However, other companies like Hero MotoCorp and Yamaha are also doing well with their new products in the segment. Now a days, people prefer automatic scooters for commuting, due to their fatigue free ride in the city traffic. That's why the segment is continuously increasing and almost all the major companies are focusing on it.
TVS is also planning to launch an Updated version of their popular scooterette, Scooty Pep in early 2014, which will further help the company get the expected results. The company registered an YoY domestic two-wheeler sales growth of 13% at 1,49,191 units during the month of September in 2013, out of which 43,201 units come from the scooter segment alone. During the festive month, the company is expecting to sell more than 60,000 units of its scooters including the Jupiter. TVS' average sales of the scooter segment is around 34,000 per month and the company expects it to be increased to 50,000 units per month by launching new products in the segment.
TVS is also doing well in the three wheeler segment and recorded a sales growth of 56% at 7,800 units in September 2013. And now company has a tie-up with the Greaves Automotive for the supply of G435 diesel engine for their best selling three wheeler TVS King DS.
