At least, that’s what Pune’s Triumph dealer says, and that the stocks are limited

    Triumph 400cc Discontinued

Triumph-Bajaj made shockwaves in the Indian two-wheeler segment with its affordable, super premium-looking and performance-packed 400cc range. We know that with the new GST rules favouring 350cc bikes (and below) with lower taxes, Triumph and Bajaj are having to rethink their strategy with multiple Triumph 350cc bikes in the pipeline. But now, an authorised dealership in Pune claims that the production of the 400cc range has been stopped, and only limited stocks are available. Take a look at the reel posted on their Instagram handle:

While there’s no official public announcement from the brand as such, the dealers we spoke to have been informed that no new batches of the 400 lineup are coming in, so the existing stock will be the last of it. The upcoming Triumph 350s, which will be the replacement to the 400s will (hopefully) be every bit a true-blue Triumph, but it will still be hard to match the psychological impact of having a 40PS Triumph bike.

    Triumph Scrambler 400X

KTM, on the other hand, plans to continue offering the KTM 390s in parallel with the upcoming KTM 350cc bikes, at least for the time being. This should give customers the choice of either buying an affordable, fairly performance-packed machine or go for the no-compromise option. If Triumph has really stopped production of the 400s, then it’s likely that it has done so only for the domestic market.

All said and done, we should hear more from the brand some time in April, so stay tuned!
