Triumph Motorcycle India has recalled around 34 Daytona 675 R motorcycles for replacing the faulty Öhlins shock absorber from the rear suspension set-up. The problem is in certain batches of the Öhlins TTX36 shock absorber, which has came from the original equipment manufacturer.

The faulty equipment was manufactured between 2013 and 2015, and their VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) ranges between 642869 to 703908. It has been founded that the piston shaft nut of these units was not machined properly at the time of assembling process. This nut tends to become loose which causes improper actions of the rear suspension. When used for a long time, it can even cause in oil leakage in some cases. So, Triumph is taking a good step by contacting the owners of the affected Daytona owners to resolve the problem. The company is replacing the absorber unit in the bikes and this will be done free of cost.

If you are a Triumph Daytona 675 R owner and want to confirm that your motorcycle is in the list of these 34 units, you just have to go on the Öhlins website and enter the six digit batch number, marked on the cylinder head of the shock absorber. (Don't be confused between part number and batch number, see the below image for assistance)

This recall in the Indian market is a part of a global exercise , which also includes some units of Triumph Street Triple in the International market. Not only Triumph but some other models including Yamaha YZF-R1m, Honda CBR1000RR SP and Fireblade HRC have also had to be recalled in the past couple of weeks due to this Öhlins recall.
