Top 5 Reasons To Buy The TVS Apache RTR 160 4V
With several segment-first features, the Apache RTR 160 4V is by far an excellent value-for-money choice in the 160cc segment

The TVS Apache RTR 160 4V stands out as an absolutely aggressive looking sporty motorcycle in the 160cc segment. This beaut also has the brawns to match, and here are 5 reasons why you should get the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V:
It Is Powerful
The TVS Apache RTR 160 4V is the most powerful bike in the 160cc sporty urban motorcycle segment, with its 159.7cc, air and oil-cooled, single-cylinder engine producing 17.55PS and 14.73Nm. This is the highest among all of its rivals.

The power and performance offered here makes the bike a really good choice for both city riding and highway runs. In the city, the motor offers good bottom-end grunt, making it easy to ride through slow moving and stop-go traffic as well.
Additionally, it also comes with Glide Through Technology, which is essentially a low-speed assist that ensures the motorcycle keeps moving without stalling at low speeds. On the highway, the bike can easily hold speeds of 80kmph without feeling stressed - impressive for a 160cc bike.
Unmatched Control With USD Fork
Another major advantage the Apache RTR 160 4V has is an inverted fork setup at the front, offered in the top-of-the-line variant. They look very premium thanks to the gold finish, and makes the bike look and feel like a higher capacity model.

The biggest advantage that the inverted fork brings to the bike is better handling. The Apache RTR 160 4V, with this addition, will feel more stable while cornering, and the front-end feel will also be a bit more engaging when compared to a bike with a traditional telescopic fork. So if you’re a rider who loves cornering on mountain roads or a race track for that matter, the Apache RTR 160 4V won’t leave you disappointed.
Segment First Ride Modes
We had mentioned earlier that the Apache RTR 160 4V is the most powerful bike in the 160cc segment. Though this might sound a bit intimidating to newer riders, there’s something which makes the power and performance a lot more manageable.

It is the addition of riding modes, of which the Apache RTR 160 4V has 3 on offer: Rain, Urban and Sport. The riding modes modulate the level of power and ABS intervention, making the bike a lot more versatile and easy to handle on a wide range of riding conditions.
In the Sport mode, the full 17.55PS and 14.73Nm is available, and this makes it perfect for some spirited, fun-filled riding experience. The Rain and Urban mode dials down the power, and restricts it to 15.64PS and 14.14Nm, making it a lot easier to manage while riding in the rain and city, respectively.
Safer Than Ever
For enhanced safety, TVS has added dual-channel ABS to the bike. This stops both the front and rear wheel from locking up during emergency braking situations, thus preventing a loss of control. The level of ABS intervention can easily be managed using the riding modes.

In the Sport mode, the level of ABS intervention has been toned down to a minimum, so when you’re riding in the twisties you can brake a bit harder. In the Urban mode, the level of ABS intervention is relatively balanced, and the ABS doesn’t end up interfering too early while braking.
In the Rain mode, the level of ABS intervention is the highest, and this comes in quite handy when riding over slippery surfaces. Lastly, TVS has also added a Rear Lift Off Protection system, which is basically stoppie control. This prevents the bike’s rear wheel from lifting off the ground and the rider losing control of the motorcycle during hard braking.
Convenience Like Never Before
Convenience is another aspect where the Apache RTR 160 4V shines, and this is evident from the simplest of things to even the more complicated bits. Starting off with the simpler ones, the bike gets adjustable brake and clutch levers which makes it easier for riders to adjust the lever positioning according to the size of their hands.

Another aspect which the Apache RTR 160 4V does right is the LED headlight with DRL. The illumination is quite good, but what really makes it special is how aggressive it looks, especially with the fang-like DRLs.
Lastly, the bike has smartphone connectivity via TVS SmartXonnect technology. This brings a lot of features to the table including call/SMS alerts and turn-by-turn navigation. Along with these features, the SmartXonnect system also offers a lot of data including race telemetry, crash alerts, lean angle mode and a lot more. The best part? The bike also gets voice assist which allows riders to use the bike’s functions with voice commands. Who wouldn’t like a bike that literally listens to you!

- Great Performance and Handling but City Mileage CoI chose the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V TFT USD model mainly for its sporty design, features and strong road presence. The bike feels very stable on highways and comfortable for daily city rides. Handling is sharp and confidence inspiring. It is also good for family usage when riding normally. Overall the build quality, braking and features like TFT display make the bike feel premium in this segment. Ride quality so far has been very good. The Apache RTR 160 4V TFT USD has excellent handling and stability. In highways the bike feels planted and smooth even at higher speeds. Braking performance and suspension are also good for most road conditions. But the biggest downside for me is the city mileage. In city I am getting around 28 to 32 kmpl, which is lower than expected for a 160cc bike. If someone wants good performance, sporty design, great handling and modern features, the Apache RTR 160 4V TFT USD is a very good choice. However mileage is the only reason I hesitate to recommend it to everyone. Competitors like Pulsar N160 give better mileage in city conditions. So if mileage is your main priority you may consider other options, but apart from that the bike is really enjoyable to ride.Read More3
