Navi Mumbai-based GoGoA1 offers the kit at Rs 44,486

GoGoA1, a Navi Mumbai-based company, has built an RTO-approved electric conversion kit for the Hero Splendor. Yes, the iconic fuel sipper can now be converted to an electric motorcycle for Rs 44,486 only. Here’s all the details about this kit:

Instead of the 97.2cc engine, the Splendor will be powered by a 2kW brushless DC hub motor with an integrated drum brake. GoGoA1 claims that the motor has 92 percent efficiency and is programmed for high regen. It is also capable of producing 63Nm of peak torque. To mount the new wheel, the company has included a modified swingarm as well.

The kit includes a motor controller, DC converter, an MCB (Miniature Circuit Breaker) for the battery pack, wiring harness and control box, a universal switch and even a throttle.

The battery pack can now be installed in place of the engine, and while the kit includes the bracket for the pack, and the battery SOC to check the charge, it doesn’t include the batteries. You can either purchase the 72V 40Ah Lithium-ion battery pack separately for Rs 50,000 (the charger will cost an additional Rs 5,606) or opt for subscription-based battery swapping system at the nearest authorised conversion center. The battery pack has a claimed range of 120km.

GoGoA1 has been setting up its Authorised Conversion Centers (ACC) across the country. And if you want to convert your motorcycle on your own, you can buy the kit from the company’s website. Furthermore, the company has universal conversion kits from motorcycles with 17-inch wheels, as well as scooter-specific kits. Considering the price of the battery and the kit itself, it is an expensive investment; however, over time, your running costs are way lower.
