Spied: Yamaha to launch XTZ 250 Lander sometime soon

Due to the rise in demand of adventure bikes in India, now Yamaha is well ready to race in this segment as well. Recently, the company has been spied testing its dual sports motorcycle-the XTZ 250 Lander, which is planned to be launched in coming November or early 2016.

The XTZ 250 Lander is the company’s entry-level dual sports motorcycle, presently manufactured in Brazil. Adventure bike enthusiasts in India have been waiting for an affordable off-roaders from a long time now and their wait will not be much longer. Few years back, Hero presented their first off-roader “Impulse”, but due to its mediocre performing 150cc engine, it failed to attract the buyers.

This adventure motorcycle from Yamaha is already on sale in various countries and it will be on a road in India by November 2015. The spy shots clearly foretells that the bike will feature a tall stance with an uplifted exhaust. It will also offer high ground clearance that makes it suitable for Indian roads. Coming to the engine, it will boast Yamaha’s 250cc single cylinder that is expected to generate the maximum power of 21 bhp and 21 Nm of torque.

The engine is mated to a 5-speed transmission that can take the bike to a top speed of 135 kmph. Loaded with the features like 240 mm telescopic forks at the front and 220 mm mono-shock absorber at the rear, it will offer an easy ride both on-road and off-road. Sticking to the standard electric start system, the motorcycle has the resolute ability to carry 135 kgs of weight. We expect the bike to be quoted upto INR 1.25 lac (ex-showroom).
