These panniers seem to be undergoing testing, they’re the same ones shown at Rider Mania 2022
A lot of the upcoming Royal Enfield bikes keep getting spied on lately, and this time around we have spotted the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 with bagger-style panniers being tested in Chennai.
The panniers seen in these pictures are reminiscent of those typically seen in big bagger bikes. The panniers’ shape is inline with the rest of the bike’s design language and it matches the swoop of the rear fender without looking like an afterthought. These particular panniers were shown during Rider Mania 2022 when the Super Meteor 650 was launched in India. Since the exhaust doesn’t intrude into the panniers, their capacity on both sides will be the same. They’re lockable as well, enhancing its utility factor.
Right now, the manufacturer is probably testing it in the real-world before launching it. Whether these panniers will be launched as accessories or a special variant of the bike is launched with these as standard, that remains to be seen. Back then, Royal Enfield said that the panniers would be priced at Rs 13,500 and the mounts priced at Rs 4,500. So, we expect them to be priced more or less around the same price tag when launched.
