In a bid to attract a younger set of buyers, Royal Enfield added a dash of youthfulness to its Thunderbird family. As a result, we now have the bright-coloured Thunderbird 350X and 500X. While the engine itself is unchanged, the Chennai-based manufacturer has made some cosmetic changes to the bikes. Although these changes have made the cruisers more attractive, they have lost some of their practical bits such as the backrest for the pillion.
Now, however, Royal Enfield has unveiled a range of new accessories that promise to enhance practicality as well the aesthetics of the cruisers.

Currently, only the windshield, bike covers and alloy wheels are available at RE’s online store and dealerships. The bike maker says that the alloy wheels are for ABS models only, which is quite surprising since it doesn’t offer ABS in any of its products. Could this be a hint that the company is set to introduce an ABS-equipped version of the Thunderbird soon? Well, only time will tell.
Royal Enfield offers free delivery of the accessories to certain pin codes on orders above Rs 1,500. However, instead of waiting for five to six business days for your product to arrive, we recommend you go down to an authorised RE store near you, buy the accessories and get it installed there itself.
