The new helmets carry essential safety certifications and an affordable price tag

  • The new full-face helmets are ISI and DOT certified
  • Can be bought from Central, Flipkart, Myntra and Royal Enfield’s official website
  • Priced between Rs 3,500 and Rs 3,700

Royal Enfield has launched two new helmet ranges that not only meet essential safety standards but sport an affordable sticker price as well. The first of these is the Street Prime series, which is an evolution of the Street range that is already sold by the company. The second is the Drifter series whose design is inspired from the classic street helmets that were popular back in the ‘60s. In addition to its own website, Royal Enfield has made these helmets available on e-commerce platforms like Central, Flipkart and Myntra. The Street Prime has a fibreglass shell and is offered in four design choices. It has EPS internal liners that are removable, washable and are anti-microbial treated. The helmet is fastened with the help of a micro metric quick release chin strap retention system. It further gets a hard coated polycarbonate visor that is said to resist scratches and offer UV protection. Royal Enfield has included a total of four vents on the Street Prime. While three of the vents let fresh air into the helmet, the other one acts as an exhaust.

The Drifter is a hark back to the ‘60s when street helmets had a wide eye port. The design not only increases the rider’s field of vision but also aids in better ventilation. It also gets a high-grade ABS shell with five intake vents and one exhaust port. The rest of the Drifter’s features are similar to those of the Street Price. Both helmets are ISI (IS: 4151) and DOT (FMVSS No. 218) certified. Royal Enfield has priced the Drifter at Rs 3,500 and the Street Prime at Rs 3,700. Apart from being available online, both helmets will also be sold through Royal Enfield dealerships.
