New Ather 450X Gen-3 Accessories Explained

While Ather has played it safe once again with the new 450X and 450 Plus in terms of performance, range and features, it’s now throwing in some thoughtful accessories to make life easier. On paper they might not seem as impressive, but in the real world, they’re pretty useful.

TPMS

Ather will now sell a tyre pressure monitor (TPMS) that’s fitted inside the tyre for better accuracy. The pressure reading is displayed on the scooter’s 7-inch TFT display and acts as a reminder to keep your tyres inflated to the right pressure. Properly inflated tyres reduce drag and help extract the best range possible. Moreover, as the TPMS unit is inside the tyre, it’s theft proof.  The device costs Rs 4,999 (including GST) and its installation is free.

Rear footrest

The new Ather 450s also feature new mounting points near the left-hand pillion footrest for a conventional, foldable footrest, much like on regular scooters. Ather has given it a personal touch and when folded it looks well integrated to the design of the scooter. This one will be most appreciated by customers in our opinion. Its price will be revealed when it is launched in a couple of months.

While Gen-2 owners can’t swap out their old battery pack for the new larger one, they can have the revised mirrors that offer better visibility than before. More clarity is required from Ather if the new tyres can be retro-fitted too and we will update this section once we have more clarity on the same.
