The rate of crime is increasing day by day, and to stop this, we need better equipped police. Patrolling is an important task for policemen, so that they can ensure that nothing is going wrong in the area and to give pace to the police, Gabriel Zuzarte, a bike designer and the founder of Road Rage Custom Builds has developed new patrolling bikes for Mumbai police. The existing patrolling bikes will soon be replaced with the aforementioned high-end, tech-loaded custom made bikes. Gabriel got his inspiration to create these bikes after learning about the bikes of the FBI in America and cops in other developed countries. “I was very keen on introducing something like that for our police force, and I had the know-how and the manpower,” he said.

He then approached senior police officers, ministers and several experts, and after continuous efforts and research for two years , the motor vehicles department (RTO) finally passed his product. “The bike will be iconic and will be equipped with the most advanced gadgets and technology, which will enable cops to manage law and order situations more efficiently,” said Gabriel. The new patrolling bike is basically a 350cc Royal Enfield Classic, but Gabriel has loaded this mean machine with all gadgets. It will be equipped with all-weather cameras at the front and the rear, real-time GPS system, an all-weather laptop and printer, these gadgets will help cops to collect and save information rapidly. “This also means no written chalan. The amount will automatically pop up on the screen and the receipt will be dispensed from the printer,” said Gabriel.

These bikes can also be used as official escort bikes as they have first aid, gear to cordon off crime scenes, tents and forensic tools. Gabriel adorn these bikes with bright LED flicker lights, custom made seats. These bikes will also have extra batteries for gadgets and protective gear for the riders. “This innovation will definitely revolutionary policing in the city. Once the bike is ready, we will be training officers on how to use the features.” The first bike will be ready by August 2013. “Currently, there are no sponsors to fund the bike. However, once I launch my first bike, I’m hoping that the state government will sponsor funds to make more such bikes,” added Gabriel.

Atul Patil, DCP, Transport said the concept is innovative. “Gabriel had approached us with the concept a year ago. Unless the prototype of the bike is put to use with the patrolling team, we cannot predict how useful and practical the innovation is. So we really have to wait until the first bike is launched to see how it fits Indian roads.”

My Bike Review

Good Bike, maintained like one of the family members. Did not trouble anytime during my ride. Did not met with an accident even once during my long rides. Just need to check tyres before starting off for a long ride. Seat is also very comfortable while riding the for longer distance for about 100KMs.

Great for Shaukeens

Best Bike for long rides & ghats. Powerful acceleration & comfort while riding. Average is around 25km for Highways & 20km in cities. The Maintenance cost is bit high as it is an 500cc bike so for servicing it cost around 2k to 3k. You can take this bike for long rides with a pillion with comfort. No back pain or anything.

Powerful, Performance,

This bike is superb, and awesome in the context of style, performance, power, milage. After running approx 12500 km I feel that this is the another super power in the segment of 500 cc bike. If any one want to enjoy true power of classic then he should go for 500 cc classic. The monster look is also great.

RE classic 500 (dessert storm) no mods 2014

It's a great bike. There are no modifications done. With proper servicing and normal maintenance this will keep going. The power and pickup is nice. Easily overtakes other vehicles at 80kmph also. Is stable on highways. Adding a backrest could help pillion rider in long rides. I usually drove without pillion for long rides. So no issue there.
