KTM Pro-XP: Anil’s first Ladakh tour made him a ‘semi-pro’ from a novice rider
From stress-free planning to conquering Ladakh’s toughest roads, Anil’s first KTM Great Ladakh Adventure turned him from a beginner into a semi-pro rider.
Anil, a manager at Lufthansa Technik in Bangalore, recently completed his first KTM Great Ladakh Adventure Tour. He rides the 2025 KTM 390 Adventure and proudly calls it a "mean machine". According to him, the bike performs amazingly on every terrain. Its adjustable suspension and off-road ABS handled off-road or any kind of rough patch and features like cruise control and quickshifter+ were able to make riding on smooth tarmac trouble-free.
Hassle-free Tour
This was Anil’s first major ride of this kind, and what drew him to the tour was how smooth the whole process was. Once he registered, KTM handled the rest. From booking hotels to arranging the necessary permissions. “I just packed my bags and left for the ride,” he says. “Everything else was taken care of.” What stood out most for him was the overall peace of mind.
The tour included a full mechanical support team and a doctor who not only did daily checkups but also offered practical advice on dealing with high altitudes and acclimatisation. It all made the trip stress-free and more enjoyable.

From novice to semi-pro
Before the tour, Anil considered himself a beginner in adventure riding. But now, after riding through Ladakh, he feels way more confident. “I think I was a novice rider, now I am semi-pro” he laughs.

- Ready to Adventure.I also have a Duke, Adv has covered all the issues which I have faced on Duke when I use to go on long rides, Ride is also plush coupled with a great engine which proves itself on all grounds. Also it has a decent fuel efficiency considering its engine performance. Bike's comfortable its mileage is also good I get a decent range, but the engine won't feel as raw as BS4 duke, great electronics and safety. Just having engine oil consumption on higher side. Also the Trampler tyres give more life than Turanzas which came initially. Long hauling person should definitely buy this bike, long rides are so hassle free.
