KTM has confirmed that the 790 Adventure would be introduced to the Indian market pretty soon. We had earlier anticipated a launch timeline of late-2020, however, going by what the Austrian brand has to say, the bike will be launched sometime around September 2020. The larger ADV will be homologated in India and is likely to be offered as a CKD (Completely Knocked Down) unit. Expect the bike to be priced in the region of Rs 11.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
To jog your memory, the 790 Adventure is powered by the same 799cc parallel-twin LC8 motor as the 790 Duke. It's tuned for better low-end grunt and makes 95PS of power and 88Nm of peak torque -- 9.5PS less and 1Nm more than the Duke. That said, peak torque is available at just 6,600rpm compared to the Duke’s peaky 8000rpm.

Electronics aids include four rider modes (Street, Off-road, Rain and an optional Rally mode), lean-sensitive traction control and cornering ABS. Thankfully, the ABS gets a dedicated off-road mode which deactivates its action on the rear wheel, offering better maneuverability in the dirt.
On the mechanical front, the 790 Adventure uses a 43mm open cartridge WP fork and a preload-adjustable WP monoshock with 200mm of suspension travel at both ends. Anchorage is offered by twin 320mm discs up front and a single 260mm rear disc at the rear. Its 21-inch front and 18-inch rear spoked wheels come shod with dual-purpose tyres.
Once launched, the KTM 790 Adventure will compete against the BMW F 750 GS, Triumph Tiger 800 XR, and the Ducati Multistrada 950.

I got a sneak peek at the KTM 790 adventure. Even while the bike's engine is unquestionably strong, I don't think the price tag of 11.50 Lac is truly justified given the quality of the bike's chassis and construction. I am particularly excited to ride the KTM 790 Adventure since it could have some hidden traits that surprise KTM fans.

The KTM 790 Adventure is based on the 790 Duke and has the same 799 cc, parallel-twin engine. However, it is tuned somewhat differently, producing 94 horsepower at 8,250 rpm. Peak power is also significantly lower. Although the parallel-twin engine has a robust low end, the 790 Adventure will undoubtedly be an enjoyable entry in the middleweight adventure bike market with a somewhat punchier low-end oomph. The 790 Adventure should be manageable and light on its feet for modest off-road work for novices and some heavier-duty off-road riding with a dry weight of 189 kg.

I have been using KTM 790 Adventure for my adventurous trips and I have to say that it is a fantastic bike. The engine is highly powerful and responsive which makes long routes journey very easy and smooth. Also the seat comforts you get is a cherry on the cake, The luggage options are also a great feature, allowing me to easily carry all of my gear for long trips. Overall, I think the KTM 790 Adventure is a superb choice for anyone who wants a high-performance touring bike that can handle any road or terrain.

The KTM 790 Adventure seems to be overpriced according to the current market scenario. I am eagerly waiting for its launch and really wish to accelerate this beast. I am pretty sure that the KTM 790 Adventure would be loaded with enormous features and equipped with a powerful engine to make it worth it for Rs. 9 lakhs. The looks and designs are aesthetically beautiful. However, I only wish that this bike lived up to KTM lovers' expectations.
