The most affordable KTM in the country now costs Rs 1.3 lakh

  • KTM 125 Duke price hiked by around Rs 5,000.
  • This is the third hike since its debut in November 2018.
  • It was initially launched at Rs 1.18 lakh; now costs Rs 1.3 lakh.

KTM India has hiked the price of its most affordable motorcycle, the 125 Duke, yet again. Its price has now gone from Rs 1.25 lakh to Rs 1.3 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). When KTM launched the motorcycle back in November 2018, it cost Rs 1.18 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). However, the company did mention that it was just an introductory price and the subsequent hikes were expected to happen anyway. While KTM hasn’t revealed the reason behind the latest hike, it could be due to an increase in the cost of production and/or raw materials. Back in April this year, KTM increased the price of the 125 Duke by Rs 300. Ever since its launch, the baby Duke has been the most popular bike for the Austrian brand, so whether this price hike affects its sales is something we shall be keeping a keen eye on.

But now though, it has gotten really close to its rival, the Yamaha MT-15, which is only Rs 6,000 more expensive. It comes with a much more powerful engine with modern Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) technology.

Coming back to the 125 Duke, it comes in three colours: orange, white and black. The motorcycle is packed with top-spec components like a WP inverted fork, a WP rear monoshock, disc brake on both ends with a radial caliper up front, and MRF radial tyres on both ends. The feature list is quite healthy too thanks to the inclusion of a fully-digital instrument cluster and a single-channel ABS as standard. Powering the bike is a 124.7cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine which churns out 14.5PS at 9250rpm and 12Nm at 8000rpm. The engine is paired to a 6-speed transmission.
