Kawasaki, the Japanese motorcycle manufacturer, which is in India for more than a decade now, have decided to bring in its big bikes to cater the growing Indian big-bike segment. Our friends at Bike India reported that Kawasaki is launching three different bikes on 4th of September. We also received the formal invitation of the launch but the invitation didn't have the details of the bike. These bikes will include Ninja ZX-10R, Z1000 and Ninja ZX-14R, however Kawasaki Z800 would be a better bike for India than the Z1000. Indians were waiting for these big Kawasaki boys for ages and now when Kawasaki decided to launch the bikes, it would be interesting to see that how well these bikes will do in the market.
The Ninja ZX-10R comes with the 998cc four cylinder engine, which produces a maximum power output of 200.1 PS at 13,000rpm and a peak torque of 112Nm. The ZX-10R is basically a track machine and loaded with features like 310mm petal rotor with ABS and Ohlins fully-adjustable suspension. On the other hand, the Z1000 is a street bike, comes packed with a 1,043cc motor, which delivers a moderate maximum power output of 128 PS and peak torque of 110Nm. This will be the most affordable bike out of these three.
And then comes the world’s-fastest-bike contender, the Ninja ZX-14R. Well, it won't be alone in its league as the Suzuki Hayabusa is already there. The Ninja ZX-14R comes loaded with a 1,441cc inline-four engine capable to put off a maximum power output of 200 PS at 10,000rpm with rather impressive 162.5Nm at 7,500rpm. It is the most powerful production bike with a top speed of 334.99kmph, which is electronically restricted at 299kmph. The bike is capable to achieve 0-100kmph in just 2.62 seconds (the world's fastest car Bugatti Veyron does it in 2.46 seconds). It comes equipped with many latest technologies like- dual throttle valve, 3-mode Kawasaki Traction Control (KTRC) system, power mode selection, ABS etc.
All three bikes will be imported as CBUs, so expect figures around Rs 15 lakh, however the exact prices will be announced at the launch. The bikes will initially be available in Pune, Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and Chennai and throughout the country later on. Like all the Kawasaki bikes, Bajaj will be responsible for retailing and servicing the bikes through their Pro Biking network.

I chose Ninja 300 for its performance, strong top-end power as I was about passionate about riding. Its good beginner- friendly and revs without being jerky. Has comfortable ergonomics and is a balanced bike with reliability. So far engine was smooth and linear. Sporty but not aggressive and power is usable for city and highways. Longer rider are somewhat comfortable and is stable. Display and techs are basic and is slightly heavy. Braking could be sharper to some extent. Yes, I would recommend Ninja 300 for smooth, reliable and well-balanced to ride easily and still have fun on rides. It tend to have better performance but lacks some basic features which other bikes in the same segment offer.Read More
I choose this bike mainly because of its smooth engine and highway comfort. It feels very stable at high speed and gives confidence while riding. Looks are sporty and premium which I liked. In city suspension feels little stiff but I was ok with that compromise. Ride experience is mostly positive. On highways it feels planted and smooth even at higher speed. Handling is very good and cornering feels safe. Mileage is decent not too low not too high. In city traffic and bad roads you feel bumps little more. Yes I will recommend this bike to people who love riding on highways and enjoy sporty riding style. It is not for someone who want soft suspension or only daily city use.
