[Update: Husqvarna Vitpilen 250, Svartpilen 250 Launched In India]

    • Will have the same 373cc motor as the KTM 390 Duke.
    • While the Vitpilen 401 is likely to be priced at Rs 3.20 lakh, the Svartpilen 401 could retail for Rs 3.30 lakh.
    • Both motorcycles will be sold via KTM dealerships across the country.

Swedish bike maker Husqvarna threw us a curveball at the 2019 India Bike Week by launching the Svartpilen 250 and the Vitpilen 250 instead of the 401 twins. However, in a recent investor meeting, Husqvarna confirmed that it will launch the Svartpilen 401 and the Vitpilen 401 in India by the end of next year.

Husqvarna recently unveiled the 2020 iteration of the Svartpilen 401 and the Vitpilen 401 at the 2019 EICMA. Apart from cosmetic updates, both motorcycles remain similar to their predecessors. Surprisingly, Husqvarna didn’t bring the Euro 5/BS6-compliant variants of the 401 twins at the EICMA. So, it seems like we’ll have to wait a few more months to see the BS6-compliant Husqvarna 401s.

Both motorcycles are powered by the same 373cc single-cylinder motor as seen on the KTM 390 Duke. In the Austrian streetfighter, this motor pumps out 43.5PS and 37Nm. So, expect similar figures in the Husqvarna twins as well. Head here for more details on the Husqvarna 401 and the Vitpilen 401.

When launched, both motorcycles will be sold through KTM showrooms along with the Svartpilen 250 and the Vitpilen 250. While the Vitpilen 401 is expected to be priced at Rs 3.20 lakh, the Svartpilen 401 could retail for Rs 3.30 lakh (both prices ex-showroom).
