Finally, India has got the much-awaited light sports motorcycle from Honda that has make enough lovers across the world; the bike is Honda CBR 250R. It was announced in the month of January 2011 and pre-orders were being started.

 

This baby CBR comes in two variants such as ABS and non-ABS. The ABS variant of Honda CBR 250R is priced at Rs. INR 1.68 Lakh and non-ABS is available with priced tag of Rs. INR 1.43 Lakh. The daughter of wind is available in three shades like red, black and silver.

 

Since announcement, the bike has been most popular in India and till now above 2000 units have been booked. Here we want to mention that due to Japan crisis, the company preferred to have only soft launch-means without pomp and show. The bike would be available in metro cities across the country from April this year.

 

Honda CBR 250R is India's first entry-level sports bike which comes with ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) at a affordable and competitor price range. The bike is available at just half the price of India's first entry-level sports bike Kawasaki Ninja 250R which comes at price tag of Rs. 269,000 at Ex-showroom Delhi.

 

The bike is having innovative and impressive features along with four stroke single cylinder DOHC, four valve, liquid cooled, fuel injected 250cc engine which especially developed for this bike. This engine of the bike is capable of generating 25 Bhp of power. It has been integrated with a six speed gearbox and the bike is capable of achieving top speed of 160 kmph in 7 seconds.

These two models of Honda CBR 250 are more than 10 years old in world market, but at the same time other sports bike models like R 15, Kawasaki Ninja 250R etc are much recent models in world market. Price wise Kawasaki Ninja 250 is about double than CBR 250 (Rs.1,50,000) and power wise Honda is on higher side with 45PS when Ninja is 33ps. However after CBR 250 comes to Indian market within Rs.1,50,000 (probably ex. showroom) Kawasaki Ninja has to drop their price. Read More
