Hero Xtreme 200S Coming in 2017

Among the products displayed by Hero MotoCorp at the 2016 Auto Expo, the Xtreme 200S was the one that grabbed a lot of eyeballs. The bike was showcased in an impressive red and white livery with a lot of technical and cosmetic updates. We were hoping the bike will be launched soon but recent reports have confirmed that the bike will be launched only in 2017.   

The new Hero Xtreme will come powered by a 200cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that generates a maximum power of 18.34bhp along with a peak torque of 17.2Nm. Built on a diamond frame chassis, the bike comes with conventional telescopic forks up front while the rear for the first time gets a mono-shock suspension. Front and rear disc brakes handle the braking duties on the bike. It is difficult to differentiate the bigger Xtreme in the way it looks from its younger 150cc sibling.   

Other features include an Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), a digital-analog instrument cluster, LED pilot lamps, LED tail lamp and stylish tank shrouds. Once launched, the Xtreme 200S is expected to come with a sticker price of around Rs. 90,000 for the base version. The bike will compete with the recently launched TVS Apache RTR 200 4V that was very well received at its launch.
