Here are all the possibilities in which you could spec your Xtreme 160R

Hero is finally taking on the likes of the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, Suzuki Gixxer and Yamaha FZ with its newly launched Xtreme 160R. It’s certainly one of the sportiest looking Hero bikes on the market right now, and with a few different variants and colour options to choose from, there are some possibilities for customisation too. Here are your options:

Variants

Front Disc

The more affordable option of the two, this front disc variant is stopped by a combination of a 276mm petal disc at the front and a 130mm drum brake at the rear. It costs Rs 99,950 (ex-showroom Delhi) and comes equipped with single-channel ABS.

Double Disc

This variant gets a 276mm petal disc up front just like the earlier version, but stopping power at the rear is stronger thanks to a 220mm disc brake. This comes at a cost, though, as the Double Disc variant is priced at Rs 1,03,500 (ex-showroom Delhi). It too gets single-channel ABS.

Colours

Pearl Silver White

White is usually associated with being rather vanilla, but the Xtreme 160R pulls off this colour scheme exceptionally well. In fact, we think this might just be the best option available, and obviously Hero feels the same since most of the press shots of the bike are in this shade as well.

The clean white panels contrast well with the grey and red stickering to give the bike an uncluttered and modern look. The only downside we can think of is that it might be hard to keep clean. But part of the joy of motorcycle ownership is giving her a hosedown every Sunday.

Sports Red

If you’re worried that the white option might make you seem a bit anonymous, then this red colour scheme will definitely help you stand out from the crowd. The red is bright and in-your-face, and it goes extremely well with the black bits on the rest of the bike. The red rim tape adds a great finishing touch, and we think this is a very attractive option too.

Vibrant Blue

Hero has mentioned a third colour option for the Xtreme 160R: vibrant blue. Unfortunately, there are no pictures available for this paint option at the moment. We’re hoping to get our hands on them soon, so watch this space for future updates.
