Hero to launch low cost bike at 2012 Auto Expo

After 100cc bike plans from Honda and TVS Motors, Hero has also announced its low cost bike for Indian market. The bike would be launched at 2012 Auto Expo. As per media reports in terms of price, this upcoming Hero bike will be cheaper than TVS Sport, TVS Max and Honda's upcoming 100cc bikes in India.

 

 

 


Pawan Munjal, Erstwhile Managing director of Hero Honda has announced the launch of this new cheap bike in India but he has not disclosed the name of the bike. There is no conformation about the engine and specs of the bike but it is believed with 100cc motor and impressive body design to compete with another entry-level bikes. As per company sources the bike is in under production which was finalised by erstwhile Joint Venture Hero and Honda that would be displayed at 2012 Auto Expo.

 


The separation between Hero and Honda has been completed and now both the companies will produce their bikes in India separately. And to achieve number one position in Indian two-wheeler market, Hero Group is to bring some value for money and reliable bikes. Meanwhile its most popular bikes like Hero Honda Splendor, Hero Honda Passion Pro, Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme and Hero Honda Karizma would be included in Hero's stable. It also is planning to enter in entry-level sports bike segment apart from a 400cc diesel bike which is also speculated by next year or later.

 


On the other hand, Japanese firm Honda to push its bikes in India through its Indian subsidiary HMSI. It has also announced a 100cc bike for the domestic market which may be competitor of this upcoming Hero's cheaper bike. To grab the Indian semi sports two wheeler market, it has recently launched its international bike Honda CBR 250R in India.

 


The Indian entry-level commuter bike market is growing with unexpected growth and other two wheeler key player TVS Motor has also announced to bring its 100cc bike for the domestic market that is expected by 2012. So a new battle will started in Indian commuter bike market with these cheaper bikes.
