Hero MotoCorp Aims 7 Million Sales in 2012-2013

Hero MotoCorp, the biggest two-wheeler manufacturer of the Indian market, has set its eyes on selling as many as 7 million two-wheelers during the fiscal year of 2012-13. In an attempt to accomplish this, Hero MotoCorp has increased its manufacturing power to a whopping 800 units per hour. Further, the comany has informed all its dealership stores to increase the capacity keeping in mind the sales figure target. As far as the previous fiscal year (2011-12) is concerned, the company achieved a 6.2 million sales figure globally. Moreover, the company achieved a whopping growth of 15% in the previous fiscal year in a market which has a total of  around 13.43 million units.

During the fiscal year of 2012-13, the market is anticipated to be close to 15 million units and the growth percentage is likely to be around 11%-13%. With the aim of achieving 7 million sales, Hero MotoCorp will achieve a growth of around 13% which is in equivalence to the industrial growth. Having said that, the company's 7 million sales goal might seem to be a bit too much given that the two-wheeler market is at present experiencing a minor slow down.

Further, there are competitors like HMSI who are gearing up for posing stiff challenges. HMSI is planning to increase its manufacturing potential very quickly; Honda Dream Yuga will be fiercely competing with Hero's trump card, the Hero Splendor. Although, Hero MotoCorp does have a strong commitment towards achieving its goal. It has never ever underachieved its sales targets till date. In fact, the company has always made better sales than what it has aimed. So it wont be a big surprise if Hero MotoCorp achieves its set target once again.
