EICMA 2022: Suzuki Unveils The GSX-8S And V-Strom 800DE ADV

Both bikes pack an all-new engine and come packed to the gills with features

Both bikes pack an all-new engine and come packed to the gills with features

Suzuki has pulled the wraps off two all-new motorcycles; the GSX-8S and the V-Strom 800DE. While the former is a streetfighter slotting below the GSX-S1000, the latter is a proper off-road-friendly ADV positioned above the popular V-Strom 650XT. Both the bikes get modern features such as a 5-inch TFT, three traction control modes, bi-directional quickshifter, ride-by-wire throttle and more! Here’s everything they pack:

GSX-8S

  • GSX-S1000-inspired vertically-stacked LED headlight.

  • Brand new 776cc parallel-twin mill making 82.9PS and 78Nm.

  • KYB-sourced inverted fork and monoshock.

  • Twin 310mm discs brakes up front and a 240mm unit at the rear.

  • Three colour schemes: Pearl Cosmic Blue, Pearl Tech White and a Matte and Sparkle Black

V-Strom 800DE

  • V-Strom 1050-inspired styling.

  • Fully-adjustable suspension from Showa with a generous 220mm of ground clearance.

  • 776cc parallel-twin engine making 84.3PS and 78Nm.

  • 21- and 17-inch spoke wheel setup

  • Four riding modes and two ABS modes

  • 20-litre fuel tank

  • Available in three paint options: Yellow, Matte Mechanical Grey & a Glass Sparkle Black

Suzuki says both the bikes will be available at European dealerships from around March 2023. We do hope Suzuki launches the bikes in India too. The V-Strom 800DE, especially, could act as the perfect rival to the ever-popular Triumph Tiger 900 and the BMW F 850 GS. The GSX-8S, on the other hand, would go up against the likes of the Triumph Street Triple R, and the Yamaha MT-07.

Value for money

Best adventure bike in this price range. It's underrated and somewhat cost less than Transalp. Weight of bike doesn't feel, thanks to its low centre of gravity. If you want a mile muncher with off road capabilities, then go for it! Suspensions are also adjustable with rebound and compression damping. It will be the best bike you will buy.Read More

It's more than worth

The bike is much comfortable. It will give Best vibe for adventure bike. It's more worth to buy in india bcz of the Indian roads. I went to ladakh trip like 1200kms and it's so comfortable and also has good mileage. In this price range I think it will be more practical to buy this bike. In this segment the bike's maintenance cost is also not that much.Read More
