Ducati has finally listened to the prayers of its admirers and is all set to unveil the mightier version of its naked street bike - Monster. The new model is christened as Monster 1200R and is claimed as the most powerful Monster by the company, which in turn also makes it the most punchier naked motorcycle by Ducati. The official unveiling will take place at the Frankfurt Motor Show on coming September 14. Volkswagen Group Night will witness the showcase and after that, the bike will be presented at the Audi booth from September 15 to September 20.

The Monster was first introduced by Ducati way back in 1993 and needless to say, it has remained a dream of every naked streetbike lover since then. The 1200cc engined Monster 1200 S was unveiled at the 2013 EICMA motorcycle show in Milan, Italy that replaced the Monster 1100 Evo. The current model comes powered by a 1,198.4 cc Testastretta 11° L-Twin, Desmodromic engine that cranks out a whopping 145bhp of power and 124.5Nm of torque. The R version will however, come powered by a bigger engine, which the company has announced officially but didn’t gave any specific details. With its unveiling, Ducati Monster 1200 R will be the first model of the company’s 2016 motorcycle line-up.

Most probably, Ducati will fit the re-tuned 1,198.4 cc Testastretta DVT mill that runs the Multistrada. This engine generates a peak power of 160PS at 9,500rpm along with a maximum torque of 136Nm at 7,500rpm.

Just like you, we are equally excited to see the newly born Monster. Stay tuned with us to get more updates about the unveiling and see if Ducati plans to bring this bike to India or not.
