Ducati to launch Monster 795 in January 2012!

Observing the demand for the Ducati bikes in India, the two-wheeler manufacturer has decided to introduce Monster 795 in India in the price range of Rs 5 lakhs-6 lakhs, as per sources. Ducati has decided to offer the Monster 795 at a reasonable price tag to surprise the Ducati fans. The Monster 795 is now within the reach of the consumers who envisage owning one. With the economic price tag, the Monster 795 will compete against the competitors Kawasaki Ninja 650R, Hyosung GT 650R, Hyosung GT 650N and Harley Davidson 883 Superlow, though it belongs to an entirely different echelon.

The Ducati Monster 795 Asia-bound model has been unveiled in Malaysia by the MotoGP racer Valentino Rossi. The new  bike will be offered in the Asian markets including, China, Thailand, Honk Kong, Japan, Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia, Vietnam and Singapore. Going forward, the Ducati might consider assembling the Monster 795 in Thailand manufacturing unit, which had been set up just an year ago as a part of cost saving measures.

Ducati had introduced the Monster range of bikes in the year 1993. The Monster series are designed by Miguel Angel Galluzi and the Trellis frame has worked wonders for the bike by improving its structural efficiency  to a great extent.  The Monster series have soon become highly popular across the world accounting for over half of Ducati’s sales in the year 2005. The popularity of the Monster 795 is gained due to the unmatched fusion of the leading Monster bikes 676 and 796. However, to bring the cost down , the Asia specific Monster 795 comes with a double swingarm unit as opposed to a latest single-sided swingarm unit in the original Monster 795.  

The Ducati 795 will have a Ducati 796’s 803 Desmodromic  2-valve engine, which is well-known for its super- efficiency is mated with a six-speed automatic gearbox to churn out a peak power of 87 PS and a peak torque of 78 Nm.
