Ducati will soon bring the sexy Panigale V2 to our shores. Here's a closer look in a set of detailed images 

Ducati is all set to launch the Panigale V2 in India. The almost-litre class machine is the successor to the Ducati Panigale 959 which was sold here. Like always, the newer Ducati is leaner, more agile and packs more electronics than its predecessor. We got a chance to get up close and personal with the new Panigale V2 and here's a closer, more detailed look at the red track weapon. 

The Ducati Panigale V2's design are a mix of the Panigale 959 and the flagship Panigale V4. The front end is similar to the Panigale V4 but narrower. 

While the windscreen is virtually similar to the V4, the fairing is cleaner and misses out on the aero winglets of the Panigale V4. It gets all-LED headlamps with air ducts that lead to the air intake. 

The minimalist tail lamp design is similar to the Panigale V4 and has cutouts in the tail section for better aerodynamics. 

The fairing has a unique double layer look that gives the appearance of a larger motorcycle. Instead of its predecessor's large twin exhaust setup, the Panigale V2 gets a single short exhaust. The Panigale V2 comes in the traditional Ducati red shade. The single-sided swingarm and black wheels too are inspired by the Panigale V4. 

It now gets a comprehensive 4.3-inch colour TFT instrument console. It includes Ducati Multimedia System, Ducati Data Analyser and GPS based lap timer. 

The updated Euro 5 / BS6-compliant 955cc Superquadro V-twin motor delivers 5PS and 2Nm more than the Panigale 959's motor. It now delivers 155PS at 10,750rpm and 104 Nm at 9,000rpm. The motor gets new injectors, new inlet ducts and a more compact exhaust setup. 

The motor uses six-axis IMU-based electronic rider aids such as the 8-stage Ducati Traction Control EVO 2, Engine Brake Control EVO, Ducati Wheelie Control EVO and a bi-directional quickshifter with auto blipper. It gets 3 riding modes -- Street, Sport and Race. 

The Panigale V2 gets a new aluminium monocoque frame that uses the V-twin motor as a stressed member. The frame also acts like an airbox with space for the air filter, throttle bodies and other fitments.

The fully-adjustable suspension components include Showa Big Piston Fork, Sachs steering damper and Sachs monoshock. Braking is via dual 320mm front discs with Brembo M4.32 calipers and a 245mm rear disc with 3-step adjustable ABS.  It gets Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa II radial tyres.

Ducati will launch the Panigale V2 in India in July. It will be manufactured in Thailand and brought to India via the CBU route. The updated motorcycle is expected to be priced around Rs 16 lakh (ex-showroom).
