Ultraviolette X47 Recon Plus Variant Explained
Everything you need to know about the X47’s second-to-top variant
The Ultraviolette X47 comes from Ultraviolette, a Bengaluru-based electric motorcycle manufacturer. Currently, the brand sells this bike in six variants, and the Recon Plus sits above the standard Recon and under the Desert Wing variant. It is priced at Rs 4,09,000 (ex-showroom, Bangalore). That is a Rs 50,000 jump over the Recon. Even though the battery and motor stay identical, that extra premium brings some meaningful upgrades. Here's what you get for the extra money:
Design
The Recon Plus gets a knuckle guard and a crash guard right from the factory. The colour options here are the same signature three paint schemes as the rest of the range, so there’s nothing special about that here. Everything else about how it looks stays the same as the Recon: the steel trellis frame, the tall windscreen, the beaked fender.
Features
The lower Recon variant specifically misses out on two features that come standard here. The tyre pressure monitoring is now built in instead of something you'd have to add on. Violette AI, Ultraviolette's assistant that covers things like crash alerts and daily ride tracking, is included too. Apart from that, the rest of the equipment list matches the Recon exactly: the same radar-based warnings for rear collisions, lane changes, overtakes and blind spots.
This variant also gets the same premium connectivity, and the same dual-channel ABS, stability control, hill-hold and park assist. Charging is another area where the Recon Plus gets the full setup, with an on-board charger and support for the Parallel Boost Charger. It is also compatible with Ultraviolette’s UV Supernova and UV Supernova+ charging options.

Nothing changes here. The Recon Plus runs the same 10.3kWh battery and 30kW motor as the Recon, with 100Nm at the motor and 610Nm at the wheel. Top speed stays at 145kmph, and 0-60kmph still takes 2.7 seconds. Range is unchanged too, at a claimed 323km on the IDC cycle. Suspension, brakes, tyres, frame, and warranty terms all carry over as well.

If you were already going to add TPMS and Violette AI to a regular Recon, the Recon Plus is basically the same bike with everything bundled into one purchase instead of a base model plus extras. The knuckle guard and crash guard are the only truly new hardware here. If you ask us, whether the extra spend is worth it really comes down to whether you'll actually ride in conditions where those two additions will come in handy.

Premium build, starts from 2.5 to 4 lakh. Price increase with warranty and range. I chose for few reasons 1) hill control 2) regent breaking 3) aesthetics) Premium build 4) Indian start up 5) very low centre of gravity 6) sticks to road due to heavy weight and traction control. Very comfortable, bit costly but worth it, service is good. They visit home to serve by taking 10 rs per km. Low maintenance, shockers are very good, load of safety features, hill hold , very practical feature, park assist, regent breaks, traction control. Daily ride is minimum 30 km, saves petrol if you ride more, home charging facility. For touring one way 170 km is ok, to charge and return back. Very economical, though initial investment is more, but if you ride heavily you will find it cheap in long run. Awesome power delivery and safety features. Best for city commuting and also medium offroading. Pillion riding is also good. Add on features like tpms and rear and front camera is like a good upgrade. Original variant is enough for a guy with daily ride of 70km per day average. For long touring and if having range anxiety go for recon or recon plus model. I plan my rides properly so i all end up only using at 20 percentage remaining. Best for bad roads and cities and also highways. This bike is a cross over so any rider can choose it for there benefits. It has got switchable traction control as well as abs also.
