Jawa 42 Bobber: Colours Explained

Whether you like your bike to stand out on the road or look understated, the different colour options will appeal to riders of all kinds

The Jawa 42 Bobber is easily one of the most visually distinctive motorcycles in the Indian market right now. Unlike conventional retro roadsters, the motorcycle follows a proper factory-custom bobber design with a floating seat, chopped rear styling and stretched proportions. To complement that design, Jawa offers the 42 Bobber in multiple colour options ranging from stealthy dark finishes to brighter dual-tone shades. Here’s a closer look at what each colour option brings to the motorcycle’s personality.

Black Mirror

The Black Mirror colour scheme is arguably the most intimidating-looking shade available on the Jawa 42 Bobber. The motorcycle gets a glossy black finish across the fuel tank and body panels, which blends perfectly with the blacked-out engine casing, alloy wheels and exhaust setup. The chrome-like reflective finish on the tank especially helps the bike stand out under sunlight and gives it a much more premium appearance than a standard matte black paint scheme.

The darker finish also suits the motorcycle’s low-slung bobber silhouette extremely well because it visually enhances the stretched proportions and minimalist styling. Combined with the floating single seat and chopped rear fender, the Black Mirror shade gives the 42 Bobber a very aggressive and stealthy road presence.

This colour option should especially appeal to riders who prefer a cleaner and more understated custom-bike look without excessive graphics or contrasting colours.

Jasper Red

The Jasper Red colour scheme gives the Jawa 42 Bobber a much sportier and more attention-grabbing personality compared to the darker colours in the lineup. It combines a rich deep red finish with contrasting lighter accents that help highlight the sculpted tank design more prominently.

Unlike the Black Mirror colour scheme that focuses more on stealthy styling, the Jasper Red colour scheme makes the bike look more energetic and youthful. The brighter paintwork works especially well with the intricate detailing and twin exhaust setup, helping the motorcycle stand out more aggressively in traffic and under sunlight.

The colour scheme also complements the retro-inspired design quite nicely because it gives the motorcycle an old-school custom-bike feel without looking outdated. On a motorcycle like the 42 Bobber where styling plays such a major role in the overall experience, the Jasper Red option feels designed for riders who want maximum visual attention and a strong road presence.

Moonstone White

The Moonstone White colour option gives the Jawa 42 Bobber a cleaner and more elegant personality compared to the darker and brighter shades in the lineup. The white finish immediately highlights the motorcycle’s bobber looks much more clearly, especially around the fuel tank and floating seat area.

The bike already has a fairly stunning design, so the lighter paint shade helps balance things visually and gives the bike a more premium and sophisticated appearance rather than an outright aggressive one. The contrast between the white body panels and the blacked-out engine, frame and wheels also creates a very sharp visual effect that enhances the overall design language.

Another interesting aspect of the Moonstone White shade is that it makes several smaller design elements stand out more prominently. Details like the tank edges, badging and exhaust setup become visually more noticeable because of the lighter background colour.

This colour option should particularly appeal to riders who want the Jawa 42 Bobber to look slightly more classy and refined rather than dark and muscular. The colour also gives the motorcycle a somewhat vintage charm that suits the overall retro-custom theme very well.

Mystique Copper

The Mystique Copper finish is probably the most unique and premium-looking colour option available on the Jawa 42 Bobber. The copper-toned finish gives the motorcycle a very distinctive road presence that immediately separates it from conventional black, red or white retro motorcycles.

The metallic copper paint especially works well under sunlight where the finish appears much deeper and more reflective. Combined with the bike’s blacked-out mechanical components and floating seat layout, the Mystique Copper variant gives the 42 Bobber a proper premium custom-bike appearance.

Unlike the Jasper Red option which looks sporty or the Black Mirror which feels aggressive, the Mystique Copper shade feels more mature. This colour option should especially appeal to buyers looking for something more exclusive and visually uncommon in the retro motorcycle segment. Since most motorcycles on Indian roads still primarily use black, red or white paint schemes, the copper finish helps the 42 Bobber stand out even more dramatically.

Which Colour Looks Best?

Choosing the best colour on the Jawa 42 Bobber ultimately depends on the kind of personality a rider wants from the motorcycle.

The Black Mirror shade feels the most aggressive and muscular, making it ideal for riders who prefer stealthy custom-bike styling. Jasper Red adds a much sportier and more youthful visual appeal, while Moonstone White focuses more on elegance and vintage-inspired styling. Mystique Copper, meanwhile, stands out as the most premium and visually unique option in the lineup.

My riding experience

The biggest reason is its appearance. The floating single seat, wide rear tyre and minimalist design made it stand out. I loved the custom bike look straight from the factory. That made me choose this bike. As a solo rider, I find the seat comfortable for daily commute and short to medium highway trips although the suspension is a bit firm on rough roads. As for mileage, it is around 25 to 30 kmpl in normal riding. A solo rider would love this bike for various purposes such as everyday use or short commute or even long road trips in various terrain. The fuel to kilometre capacity is not a problem for me. Considering the current petrol crisis in India, this bike is quite manageable. Read More

The guy who loves solo traveling

My friend had this bike first so I tried it for few long trips and I fell in love with the performance and smoothness of this beauty. Its fuel cost is more but manageable. I usually prefer performance. Looks are also good. For comfort, its good but its better for solo travelling. I travel solo pretty often, so its a best choice for me. It performs well in hilly area which was truly unexpected for me. Sometimes, its just the heat problem, my leg got burned while riding, so better be careful about it. Well, if you prefer solo travelling or like normal travel then go for it. Its better for people who can handle heavier bikes and have experience. If you can manage the fuel costs in today's economy then go for it. Read More
