Hero XPulse 200 4V: Features Explained
Might be affordable, but the Xpulse 200 is not bare-bones by any means. In fact, it’s impressively well-loaded!
The Hero XPulse 200 4V is the most accessible entry point into the world of off-road riding. It can help you commute with ease, while also letting you enjoy and learn the techniques of off-road riding. While it is competitively priced, Hero has made sure it doesn’t feel basic. Here’s a quick explanation of all the features:
Convenience Features
The motorcycle comes with a full-LCD instrument cluster. This unit includes Bluetooth connectivity for turn-by-turn navigation that’s shown on the right side of the screen. This section also shows the chosen ABS mode (more on that below) and trip ETA. The left side of the screen has a speedometer, tachometer, odometer, tripmeter, service indicator, clock, gear position indicator, along with other tell-tale lights. While the console is well-packed with useful information, it feels a little cluttered in my opinion.
For extra convenience, it also gets a slightly taller windshield than the previous-generation version, which should come in handy in reducing wind blasts on the highways. The upswept exhaust should also make it worry-free in water crossings. There’s a small tail rack too, which should help in securing a small tail bag for longer rides.
The Pro variant adds more features to aid serious off-roaders such as a handlebar riser (results in a taller handlebar - good for stand-up riding), extended gear shift lever (to accommodate off-road riding boots), much longer travel, adjustable suspension at the front as well as at the rear (and a longer side stand to go with, too), and a taller seat.
Safety Features
Hero has equipped the XPulse 200 4V with three ABS modes as standard: Road, Off-road, and Rally. This system works with a 276mm front disc and a 220mm rear disc brake, but note that the ABS is only single-channel. It offers full intervention in Road mode, less on Off-road mode, and deactivates entirely in Rally mode.
The lighting system is fully LED, that too with a projector LED headlight for better illumination compared to regular halogen lights. You also get a hazard light function and full-length knuckle guards. Note that these knuckle guards don’t have a metal frame, so they may not be able to handle rough impacts.

Both the variants of Hero Xpulse 200 are great, but you need to choose as per your preference. For most riders who want a bike for daily commutes and also something that’s capable enough to help them learn off-road riding, the standard variant is a well-loaded, capable option. It’s got all the useful features and is a great choice for something that comes close to a do-it-all bike.
If you’re really keen on off-road riding, participating in off-road events, or just want to have fun on really technical trails, and want a more special colour option then go for the Hero Xpulse 200 Pro variant. For others, the standard variant itself will suffice.
Hero XPulse 200 4V User Reviews
I’ve been using this bike for the last 3 years, and overall, I’m very happy with it. It’s a great choice for both city rides and off-roading. The mileage and maintenance costs are good, and the suspension is excellent for potholes and rough Indian roads. The main drawbacks are engine heating during hilly rides and some fatigue on rides over 200 km in a day. Overall, a comfortable, reliable, and capable off-road bike. I haven’t faced any major issues in 3 years. I'll rate it 5/5.Read More

I am five eleven and it suits me for my height. Comfort of a rider not a pillion and mileage is a plus for this bike. Maintenance cost is also very good and cheap you can get service done from any of the authorised hero service centres. I have been driving since almost twenty two thousand kilometres so far and im fully satisfied with the performance of this bike. I just changed chain socket and fuel motor in the fuel tank. Ride comfort is very good for rider not for pillion thats only negative. Yes I would definitely recommend this bike to those who have height above five eight. I chose Hero Xpulse 200 4V for its comfort on bad roads while still being easy to ride daily. The suspension works great on potholes, the engine is smooth for city rides, and maintenance stays affordable. Ride quality has been comfortable so far, especially on rough roads. Mileage is decent for daily use, handling feels light and confident, and while top speed isn't aggressive it's stable and relaxed at cruising speeds. Yess -- I'd recommend it for daily riders who want comfort on rough roads, easy handling in traffic, good mileage and reliable performance. Not ideal if you want high speed or aggressive sport riding.Read More
