BMW Motorrad has unveiled the new M 1000 RS, claiming it to be the world’s most powerful hyper naked motorcycle. Based on the M 1000 R with the M Competition Package, the new model gets the full-power superbike engine from the M 1000 RR, along with several lightweight and performance-focused components. It will be limited to just 1,000 units globally.
Superbike Engine
Powering the BMW M 1000 RS is the 999 cc, four-cylinder engine borrowed from the M 1000 RR, producing 218 PS. This makes it one of the most powerful naked motorcycles in the world. The bike has a DIN unladen weight of 196 kg, giving it an impressive power-to-weight ratio. BMW claims the motorcycle combines the explosive acceleration and performance of a superbike with the agility and upright riding position of a hyper naked.
More Focused Riding Position And Hardware
The M 1000 RS gets several changes over the standard M 1000 R to make it more track-focused. It features an M rider footrest system borrowed from the M 1000 RR, while the seat height has been increased by 20 mm. This results in a more forward-leaning, front-wheel-focused riding position. The motorcycle also gets an M full-titanium exhaust system, along with matt carbon fibre winglets featuring RS lettering. The rear section is borrowed from the M 1000 RR, further highlighting its superbike connection.
Exclusive Styling And Limited Production
The BMW M 1000 RS gets a distinctive dark theme, with matt carbon fibre components, a brushed aluminium fuel tank and exclusive graphics. It also features an M Alcantara-style seat with RS embroidery. BMW will manufacture only 1,000 units of the M 1000 RS worldwide, making it an exclusive offering in the hyper naked segment.
Launch And Availability
The BMW M 1000 RS will be available at BMW Motorrad dealerships from March 2027. It is priced at EUR 40,000 (approximately Rs 43 lakh) in Germany. India launch details are yet to be announced.
