BMW F 450 RR Teased Ahead Of Its Official Debut
Here’s when it will launch, expected price, and other details of the upcoming sportbike
BMW has teased its upcoming bike once again; this time revealing its entry-level supersport, the BMW F 450 RR. Here’s everything you need to know about the motorcycle.
The F 450 RR will be the faired sibling to the recently-unveiled BMW F 450 R. From what we can see in the teased image, the motorcycle takes design cues from BMW’s larger sportbike, the S 1000 RR.The bike gets an aggressive silhouette, with winglets, twin-pod headlights and a muscular fuel tank adding to its sharp and sporty design.
The motorcycle appears to have clip-on handlebars, which should give it a committed riding position. However, the finer details of its bodywork are still unclear.
The bike will be powered by the same 420 cc parallel-twin engine featured on the F 450 R. The motor produces 48 PS and 43 Nm. Also, on the naked bike, BMW claims that 80 percent of the maximum torque is available from just 3,000 rpm, which should help the bike deliver strong mid-range performance. We can expect similar performance from the faired bike.
It is expected to feature the same 6.5-inch TFT console as the F 450 R, with features such as navigation, music controls and call/SMS alerts. It is also likely to get riding modes, ABS, traction control and other electronic aids, making it a feature-rich package for buyers looking for an entry-level supersport motorcycle.
BikeDekho Says
With the upcoming bike, BMW Motorrad will have a presence across all major segments, including adventure, naked sport and supersport motorcycles in the sub 500-cc twin-cylinder range. With the bike set to be officially unveiled on October 15, the brand aims to cater to a wider range of riders through its entry-level lineup.
The motorcycle is expected to be priced between the BMW F 450 R and the BMW F 450 GS. We expect the bike to launch in India mid next year.
