BS6 Yamaha R15 V3 Bookings Open

Customers can book the bike for a token amount ranging from Rs 1,000 to Rs 5,000 depending on the dealership

Customers can book the bike for a token amount ranging from Rs 1,000 to Rs 5,000 depending on the dealership

  • The BS6 model costs around Rs 6,000 more than the BS4 iteration.
  • It gets cosmetic updates along with a BS6-compliant engine.
  • The upgrades have resulted in the performance taking a minor dip.
  • Features include a rear radial tyre, side stand engine cut-off switch and dual horn setup.

Yamaha dealerships across India have begun accepting bookings for the BS6 R15 V3 for a token amount ranging from Rs 1,000 to Rs 5,000. Deliveries are expected to commence in the first week of January. The updated model is priced at Rs 1,45,900 (ex-showroom Delhi), a hike of around Rs 6,000 over the BS4 iteration. Aside from the updated motor, the bike also gets a couple of new features and cosmetic updates.

The company offers the R15 in three new colours - Racing Blue, Thunder Grey, and Darknight - with updated graphics. Its feature list includes a new side stand engine cut-off switch and dual horn setup. Previously, you could opt for an optional rear Metzeler tyre. Now though, it comes as standard fitment. What isn't clear is if its the same brand of tyre.

Powering the bike is a BS6-compliant 155cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that produces 18.6PS at 10,000rpm and 14.1Nm at 8500rpm. That’s 0.7PS and 0.6Nm less compared to the BS4 bike. The bike essentially trades in performance for cleaner tailpipe emissions. What hasn't changed is the 6-speed gearbox and the slipper clutch.

The same goes for the underpinnings too, with the BS6 R15 V3 continuing to use a delta box frame, telescopic front fork and a monoshock. Its braking setup comprises of disc brakes at both ends with dual-channel ABS as standard. We will be riding the bike soon, so stay tuned for our first ride impressions.

Driven by single person only

Bike's performance is an excellent, powerful pickup, starts easily, one handed used only, driven 7700 km only within 3 and half years. Overall experience is memorable, sound is normal, highway experience is totally amazing, driving R15S vs other bikes is totally different, average can be maintained if we drive well.Read More

The best bike of segment

Its a stylish bike. Very good looking and powerful with a muscular body and heavy duty. I love the bike since beginning, my dream bike and very solid bike. Better in every aspect in mileage, great in looks and performance. It's very sharp looking and comfortable for long rides also a good mileage provider, good acceleration and pickup, fast, smooth, tension free riding and less maintenance bike for sure. In this price range, it's the best. The best bike. I would definitely recommend to young guys, not for old grandpa's, it gonna make you feel royal and elegant, very strong presence and that's why I am recommending this bike to all of my friends. Pocket rocket

The only bike in the segment which provides you punchy power and aggressive position it may have some cons still who are above 5.5 height can ride this rocket comfortable. Personally I love riding sports bike and this is seriously a legendary one in the segment also from 200cc segment. I reached upto 153 of speed on a highway which is so much within a 155cc segment. End of the day its very sexy for enthusiasts who prioritise power over features. So good i mean its powerful but not that torquey its so light weight and too much powerful no braking issues for me personally and mileage i got is around 42 to 45 in city and around 50 on highways too good for college students but you get back pains and spine problems not suitable for long rides good for flicking in traffic. Yes i do, The things you have to consider while buying this is its power packed for a beginner its good for track not suitable for long rides and also you have to be confident while driving this when VVA kicks in you just fly.Read More

Great bike overall. Fantastic control and road presence. Wish I had purchased this bike earlier. Crazy engine performance. Loved it. The bikes gear shift mechanism is very smooth. Easily touches 100+ speeds with full control. Great impactful headlights and maneuverability even on bumpy roads. Very easy to handle when compared to other similar bikes.Read More
