The latest teaser of the Bajaj CNG Bike reveals the bike’s features and new design details including the headlight, display and body panels

Update: The Bajaj Freedom 125 CNG Bike has been launched in India at Rs 95,000 (ex-showroom)

Bajaj CNG Bike To Be Called The Bajaj Freedom 125

    Quick News Highlights:

    - Name has been revealed, to be called the Bajaj Freedom 125
    - Likely to get an LED headlight with triangular LED DRLs
    - Gets a digital instrument console with a blue button on switchgear to switch between CNG/petrol modes

Earlier, we thought that the Bajaj CNG bike may be called ‘Bruzer or Fighter,’ as Bajaj recently trademarked those names. However, the official name of the CNG bike will be Bajaj Freedom 125, as revealed on the website. The name was also trademarked earlier this year.

    Bajaj Freedom 125 Name Trademark

Bajaj has also teased the upcoming Freedom 125 CNG bike yet again, just a day before its launch on July 5, 2024. The latest teaser uploaded on Bajaj’s Instagram handle provides us with a clearer view of the bike’s instrument cluster, body panels, exhaust heat shield and headlight assembly.

The latest Bajaj Freedom 125 teaser starts by showing us the digital instrument cluster, which has a ‘neutral gear indicator’ and ‘low CNG fuel level alert’ at the top. The next shot gives us a clearer look at the bike’s boxy tank extension, which gets a brushed aluminium finish and then we get to see the stainless steel exhaust shield.

Bajaj CNG Bike To Be Called The Bajaj Freedom 125 The teaser also shows a triangular part of the bodywork, which looks like the bike’s side panel. At the end of the teaser, we also get to see what seems to be the headlight of the bike along with the triangular DRL (daytime running lights) housing. We think the lights in the DRL housing might be the reflection of the studio lights.

Bajaj Freedom 125: Price & Rivals

The Bajaj Freedom 125 is likely to be launched at around Rs 80,000 (ex-showroom), considering Bajaj always prices its bikes very competitively. The CNG bike will go up against other 100-110cc commuter bikes such as the Hero Splendor Plus, TVS Radeon, Honda Shine 100, and Bajaj Platina 110.

Bajaj Freedom 125: Engine & Mileage

The Bajaj Freedom 125 is expected to feature a 125cc, single-cylinder CNG/petrol-powered engine, but it may deliver slightly less performance, probably similar to a 100-110cc petrol-powered bike. The reason for the reduction in its power output is because CNG is not energy-dense as compared to petrol, and therefore, sacrifices some of its performance.

    Bajaj Freedom 125 Teased Again

Moreover, the Freedom 125 is expected to reduce running costs too, as CNG is significantly cheaper than petrol. While there are no proper details on the bike’s mileage figures, we expect it to deliver a mileage of around 70km per kg. The CNG bike comes with two fuel tanks. The first is the primary CNG tank and the other is a small petrol tank, to be used when the bike runs out of CNG.

Bajaj Freedom 125: Design & Features

The Bajaj Freedom 125 has a simple commuter design and boxy body panels. At the front, it has an LED headlight & indicators, and a braced handlebar. Its long single-piece seat overlaps the fuel tank, and the CNG tank is placed under it. The bike has a sleek single-piece grab rail. The tail section looks slim and the rear gets a stubby upswept exhaust, a tyre hugger, and a saree guard on the left. The Freedom 125 will have two variants: one standard, and the other a more rugged one that comes with knuckle guards and fork covers.

Bajaj Freedom 125: Design & Features

It has a digital instrument console. The bike comes with a blue button on the left-side switchgear that allows the rider to switch between CNG and Petrol modes. The indicator switch is located below the CNG/Petrol button, and next to it is a circular switch that appears to be the horn.

Bajaj Freedom 125: Suspension & Brakes

The Bajaj Freedom 125 comes with a telescopic fork with fork gaiters and a monoshock. Braking is handled by drum brakes on both ends with an optional front disc brake, paired with CBS (combined braking system).

      Review after 8k kms usage
Baja. Freedom bio is ideal for long commute as it is fuel efficient, low maintenance and economical friendly. Dual fuel adds flexibility although slightly less powered but sufficient for travel without pillion and not much heavy luggage. Ridden 8000 plus kms ok pure CNG, less than 200kms used on petrol, I can say ride on CNG is reliable as Bajaj has been on CNG vehicles like in Auto rickshaw from decades. As said earlier it is slightly less powered but enough for single person travel. I would recommend as the bike itself is easy to ride although it is 148 kg but feels very lightweight while riding. With a great mileage of 90 plus on cng and may be 60 plus on petrol ( coz ridden vert less on petrol)
